Playing with Distress Inks - part 1

I've seen a Tim Holtz make inky backgrounds by putting Distress Inks onto a craft sheet, spraying with water, then dunking some watercolour paper into the watery ink, and I thought I'd give it a go.

For my first try, I decided to have a go at a couple of challenges at the same time - Just Add Ink's Winter challenge, and Annabelle Stamps' Snowflakes challenge
There are silver embossed snowflakes, but also clear pearl embossed snowflakes as well, which show up in this photo - colour looks a bit odd in this 2nd photo, though - I used Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire:
