Online Card Class, Day 2, take 2!

After the last card I made, with the 2 baubles with the teeny tiny glittery bits, I decided there HAD to be an easier way to make something with the same technique, but less hair pulling.  I also thought that the previous card was a bit TOO glittery for my taste, and a friend of mine (hi, Janet!) said that she thought the sparkly background was a bit too much, and I agree.

This time, I cut the die out of silver and red glimmer paper from Stampin Up instead of colouring them with Copics.  Much easier.  Then I tried keeping all the bits of the silver die cut together in one piece after running it through my Big Shot, and applied glue just to the back of the teeny bits, and stuck that to a card, and pulled away the swirly main die cut shape, and replaced it with the other colour die cut.  (Pulling away the swirly shape was easier said than done, so the other colour shape, I just punched out the teeny bits and replaced them one by one.)  I stuck the shapes to some white cardstock and cut around the edge with my scisors, before mounting them with dimensional adhesive onto the card front, after stamping the row of dots from Lawn Fawn's Ornate Ornaments, and the sentiment from Hero Arts Holiday Sayings.

I think it looks so much better with all the pieces flush with the surface, rather than just sticking the swirl ornament (it's from Memory Box, btw) on top of another piece of glitter paper.  It's a LOT more work, though.

Personally, this card is MUCH more my style ;)

 Have a great day :)
