Monochrome for A Blog Named Hero

The new challenge at A Blog Named Hero is Monochromatic, so I made this card for the Facebook page.
I used the "Swirl Stencil" from Hero Arts to add some pink Distress Inks to a panel of white cardstock. I added a sentiment from "Little One" , some faux stitching and some dew drops from Studio Katia.

Sending love

I know, I know, there's no white card base! I must have been feeling a bit weird on the day I made this!
The flowers are from Studio Katia, the sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays and Clearly Besotted.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 208

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I made a shaker card, using the Full on Floral background stamp coloured with Zig markers and water, and a sentiment from Pretty Posies stamped in a Hero Arts ink. I also used Fri dies "friend" (coloured with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink) and "heart board" to cut the shaker window. The sequins are from "Handmade by Brittney Lee".

Floral friend

I had a leftover watercolour panel from a card that I made for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge a little while ago, so I put it to good use.
I added a die from Studio Katia and a white embossed sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Alcohol ink birthday

Alcohol inks, foil, and a die. Lots of detail on the coloured panel, but really clean and simple.
The birthday die is from Simon Says Stamp.

Love and hugs

I think I prefer this floral stamp stamped in black - there's too many white lines for white embossing to work. I didn't let that stop me making this panel into a card.
I coloured the image with Zig markers and water, and added a sentiment from the same stamp set.

Amazing friend

This card started off as a white on white background. Then I got sidetracked.
The background die is from Catherine Pooler, coloured with Distress Oxide inks (there are actually 4 colours here, but it didn't photograph well! There's Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch, believe it or not). I cut the hello in the sentiment using a pair of dies from Create a Smile, and some glitter paper from Simon Says Stamp. The stamped part of the sentiment is from Clearly Besotted. The little green jewels are from Studio Katia.

Happy Fathers Day

It was Fathers Day in Australia on the weekend, so I made this card for my dad (he likes blue, too!)

I CASEd THIS CARD by Lisa Tilson - I changed up her idea a bit by not using foil, and by impressing the bottom edge of the happy die into the white cardstock - I thought it would make the sentiment clearer if the outline of the whole word was visible, but I wanted to do partial die cutting, so I thought this was a way to get the best of both worlds.
For the alcohol ink background, I tried something different - I had added lots of alcohol ink to a yupo panel, and realised I had added WAY too much ink, so I grabbed another piece of yupo and smooshed the two pieces together - I will be trying this again, because I was really happy with the result! It looks super smooth!

It's a STAMPtember blog party!

It's STAMPtember!!YAY!!!!
https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/
I received the "Nature Mandala" stamp from the Stamptember release from Simon Says Stamp in the mail, and got inky straight away!
For this one, I coloured the image with Zig clean color real brush markers. I added a black sentiment strip with clear embossing, using the "Thoughtful Messages" stamp set.
For the second card, I white embossed the image onto Bristol smooth cardstock (the image is VERY VERY VERY detailed, so I wanted a smooth cardstock instead of my usual textured watercolour cardstock). I coloured it with blue and aqua Zig markers, sprayed with water, let it dry, then repeated to get more intense colour. I finished the background with a spray of Perfect Pearls in water. The sentiment is the big thanks die with the matching stamp set.

I couldn't resist making a third card! For this one, I again white embossed onto Bristol cardstock, and then used a Distress brush to blend Distress Oxides over the embossing. I added a sentiment with the "Love" die from Simon Says Stamp, and a stamp from "Thoughtful Messages".

The new release is now live, and can be found HERE.  And there's a special extra something below:

Shiny blues and greens for A Blog Named Hero

Today, I'm sharing another card with Sparkle and Shine for A Blog Named Hero.
I used the Garden Tile Pattern background stamp from Hero Arts, white embossed and coloured with Zig markers and water, then HEAPS AND HEAPS of Perfect Pearls. The sentiment is from "Mouse Tea Party", then I finished with a strip of glitter paper and some sequins.
So this card doesn't look incredibly shiny when photographed straight on, but on an angle....
All the shine!!!

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 207

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I used Full on Floral white embossed onto Bristol cardstock, and I used an ink blending tool to add Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. I added the friend fri-die cut from wood veneer cardstock, and a stamped sentiment from Pretty Posies white embossed onto kraft cardstock. I finished with some clear sequins.

Alcohol lift ink part 2

When using Alcohol Lift ink, you get two for the price of one, because you get to reuse the alcohol ink that you lifted with the lift ink on another card - does that make sense?  I stamped this Penny Black Flower Cascade image in lift ink over a panel of yupo with alcohol inks on it, and then, without cleaning the stamp, I stamped the lifted ink on the stamp onto a blank white card base. This card is the result.
I decided to colour in the image with Derwent pencils to match the colour of the outline image,  added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink, and some faux stitching in matching gel pens because I thought the image was a bit too far to the right, and needed some balancing out on the left.

Lift ink hugs

I bought a pad of Alcohol Lift Ink at Paperific (thanks to Lesley at Little Bits) and made this card using a yupo panel I had inked up a couple of months ago.
I used the Flower Cascade stamp from Penny Black with the Lift Ink to remove the inks from the yupo panel. I cut it down and adhered it slightly to the left of a top folding card, and then added a layered die cut sentiment from Pink and Main. It's really hard to see in the photo, but the pale purple/orchid die cut has Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink blended towards the bottom edge, and then Perfect Pearls in water sprayed over the top to give the sentiment a subtle ombre effect and a bit of shine.

Stay tuned in a couple of days - I will post a card I made with the lifted ink!

Thanks for making my day brighter

More alcohol ink goodness!

I added a border using a stitched rectangles die from Lil' Inkers Designs, and a sentiment using dies from Create a Smile (using Simon Says Stamp glitter cardstock) and a stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
I will be sharing this card at Time Out Challenges, where the theme is BRIGHT!

Thrilled for you

I made this wedding card today. The blobs of gold embossing went a bit awry - oh, well!
The roses are from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with Derwent pencils, and the sentiment is from MFT "geometric greenery".

Rainbow birthday trellis

I love a rainbow, so I use any opportunity to add one to a card.
I used the stained glass coverplate die from Catherine Pooler, over a panel inked with Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.
