Blue floral sympathy card

I'm determined to never have to make a sympathy card when I actually need it.
I white embossed the flowers from Altenew onto watercolour cardstock. I then took two blue Distress Inks and smooshed them directly over the embossing, and then sprayed the panel with water. I repeated the process, but then sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls in water. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti.
I will be sharing this card at The Flower Challenge, where the challenge is to use an older stamp.

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Glenda Wyatt

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Glenda Wyatt, and she has challenged me to make a one-layer CAS card. You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:
I used the "Sweet Holiday Penguins" set from My Favorite Things, coloured with Copic markers, then masked so I could add the the blue background using Distress Oxide ink, then some Stickles snowflakes.
I will be sharing this post at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is "Christmas".

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Debbie Pamment

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Debbie Pamment, and she has challenged me to make a card with the theme "Holly Jolly". You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:
I used a very old stamp from Annabelle Stamps (an Australian company that is, sadly, no more) and stamped a wreath of the holy image. I coloured them with Copic markers very quickly, and then added a sentiment with a die from PaperTrey Ink, and a stamp from Birch Press Design.
I decided that one was definitely not enough, so I made another with red glitter for the die cut.

And I decided I quite liked this card, so I made some more, using different dies from PaperTrey Ink, and sentiment stamps from Avery Elle.

I will be sharing this post at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is "Christmas".

DieCember at Simon Says Stamp!

I just received this oh-so-cute cup die from Simon Says Stamp in the mail, and I had to get creating immediately!
I cut the "Big Picture Book Latte" die from some red cardstock and some white glitter cardstock. I used Copic markers to add some shading to the cup and to the froth. I stamped some snowflakes onto the mu from Simon Says Stamp's "Lots of Snowflakes" and also white embossed snowflakes on the background. I coloured around the background snowflakes with a pale blue Zig marker, and sprayed the piece with Perfect Pearls in water.
I found a very old piece of patterned paper in my stash (I don't know where it is from, sorry), and added it with a strip of glitter cardstock to the left side of the card, and added a white embossed sentiment from "Tiny Words Christmas" also from Simon Says Stamp.
Look at that little smiley face - so cute!

Make sure you check out the rest of the DieCember release at Simon Says Stamp - my wish list is getting longer and longer!

I will be sharing this card at CASology, where the theme is "North".

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Jennifer McGuire

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Jennifer McGuire, and she has challenged me to make a card using stamping on vellum. You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's the first card I came up with:
This card is made of vellum - I stamped and gold embossed the very old stamp from Stampendous onto the vellum card front, and coloured the back of the vellum with Copic markers. I then added pieces of white cardstock behind the image, and inside the card (to write on) and on the back (to hide the adhesive, and to stamp my Handmade by Michelle stamp).
For the next card, I also gold embossed an image from Wplus9 onto vellum, but I added the bold colour to a piece of white cardstock that I adhered behind the vellum, so there is no colouring medium on the actual vellum - just the embossing.
The sentiment is a die from CAS-ual Fridays cut from gold mirror cardstock, and a little stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
When I finished this post and wrote it up, I realised that both of my cards used embossing on vellum, but neither of them had just straight stamping on vellum. So I pulled out some layering stamps from Hero Arts and got inky.  I actually CASEd a card posted last month by Jennifer for this one - you can check it out HERE.
I used the color layering holly stamps from Hero Arts with shadow inks from Hero Arts stamped onto a vellum card. I then stamped and white embossed the Merry Christmas stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I thought about cutting this down to attach to a card front, but I decided to use the whole card, and attached it to a kraft card with some red and white twine from Doodlebug Design.
I just couldn't help myself - I decided to make a card with stamping and embossing on vellum with no colouring at all!
I repeatedly stamped and embossed the holly leaves and berries from DeNami Designs onto a vellum card base. I then stamped and embossed the poinsettia from Simon Says Stamp twice onto vellum, and cut both of them out (one of them, I cut some of the petals off). I then layered and adhered them over a thin strip of glitter cardstock from Stampin' Up, and added a die cut "joy" from Birch Press, also cut from glitter cardstock. I finished with the "to the world" tiny sentiment from Simon Says Stamp, stamped in Antigua ink from Hero Arts. To give the overall colour, I adhered some pool coloured cardstock behind the front of the card (I also added some to the back of the card, and a piece of white cardstock to write my message inside).

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Jeanne Jachna

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Jeanne Jachna, and she has challenged me to make a card with a scene. You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:
I created this scene with stamps from Lawn Fawn's "Toboggan Together" and "Trim the Tree", coloured with Copic markers, adn the snow is cut with a stitched border die, also from Lawn Fawn. The sky is a piece of Yupo with blue alcohol inks leftover from an earlier Christmas card.

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Ardyth Percy-Robb

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Ardyth Percy-Robb, and she has challenged me to make a card with the theme "Snow". You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:
After masking off a strip in the middle, I white embossed snowflakes from Simon Says Stamp, and then blending Distress Oxide Ink over the top. I added some dots of Copic markers and white gel pen to the blue areas. I finished with a sentiment from Clearly Besotted, and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
I'll be sharing this card at CAS(e) this sketch challenge #300!

Peace, Love and Doves with Catherine Pooler

Gold poinsettia

I've had a palette of gold Gansai Tambi watercolours sitting beside my desk for months and months and hadn't opened it until today. I saw an image of gold poinsettias online and decided to make a card with only gold.
I used a stamp from Studio Katia gold embossed and painted with two different gold watercolours. I added a gold embossed sentiment form Hero Arts and adhered it to a metallic gold card base. The photos really don't do this card justice - the gold watercolours are just gorgeous!
