CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 136

It's time again for another challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
www.cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com
That is, make a card using watercolour that has a love theme.  Here's what I made:
I started with a swish of dark and mid-pink watercolour on a white card base.  I then added some die-cut quavers from Double Note Fri-Dies cut from cardstock from my scraps file, and a sentiment from Big Treble. Some Wink of Stella painted onto the black quavers finished the card.
Make sure you drop in to CASual Fridays and link up your watercolour love!

Online Card Class CAS 4 - Day 1 again!

I know, I already made a card for day 1 of the Online Card Class, but there was another technique from Day 1 I wanted to have a go at.  This technique, called Faux Ceramic Tile, was demonstrated by Julie Ebersole - and it's her birthday today!  Happy birthday, Julie!!

Online Card Class CAS 4: Day 3

Jennifer McGuire used an interesting technique in today's Online Card Class - stamping with Versamark over the top of Hero Arts shadow inks to give a kind of watermark effect. (it works with some other inks, too, but I have the Hero Arts ones).  Jennifer used it to cover a whole card, but I cut down a piece to create a patterned panel.

Online Card Class CAS 4: Day 2

Catching up on homework - this card is using Debby Hughes' technique to mimic paper cutting my cutting up die cuts.  I don't have many very intricate die images, so this was made with just two dies - the "love" word from Winnie and Walter, and the Fairytale Flower Border from Memory Box.
I used shiny metallic cardstock in navy blue for the card base, so getting a clear photo was a nightmare!  Please excuse the partial fuzziness of the photos. :(  You can see the sheen on the cardstock on the photo below.

I'll be submitting this to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Online Card Class CAS 4: Day 1

Another Online Card Class is on this week - I love these!  (well, I love them when I have time to play along!)  I'm catching up on some homework today, and this is the first one I'm sharing (because it fits with Day 1 of class.) I used Jennifer McGuire's embossing with masking technique. Now, I don't have many embossing powders - I have gold, silver, white, a clear glittery one and clear.  I used the gold, silver and glitter ones on this card.

A quick birthday card

I needed a quick card - this one came together by starting with Hero Arts "Many Birthday Messages", then using my Faber Castell watercolour pencils with a stencil from Create a Smile.

Make sure you drop on over to A Blog Named Hero's Facebook page - we have lots of inspiration and ideas, and questions for you to answer as well!

CASEing Jennifer McGuire with some new dies

I received some lovely steel dies in the mail just after Christmas from my Secret Santa, Jeanne Jachna! Thanks so much, Jeanne - so generous!
I thought I'd CASE a card by Jennifer McGuire - you can check our her's HERE.  Mine is different in that the white panel and die cut are not raised with dimensional adhesive - mainly because the die cut heart does not overlap the white panel, and it is so intricate, it would be very tricky cutting dimensional adhesive small enough!

A new challenge at A Blog Named Hero

There's a new challenge starting today at A Blog Named Hero - the theme is "Personalise".  As soon as I saw this theme, I thought of my sister-in-law, Claudine.  Her name is not common in Australia, so when she was growing up, the shops never had a personalised keyrings or pencils or mugs with her name on it. So, seeing as her birthday is in January, I thought I'd make a card just for her.
I thought I had finished the card with just stamping (and the calligraphy for her name), but the flowers looked a little flat (even though they have a mixture of two different Hero Arts Shadow Inks on them), so I went over them with some matching Copic markers - not much, but enough.  Here's the before and after, side by side, so you can see the difference:

Make sure you drop on in to A Blog Named Hero to check out what the rest of the Design Team have created to inspire you.
