Dino card for Paper Rose

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Today, I'm sharing a card for Paper Rose Studio.

I stamped and cut out the dinosaurs and tree, and coloured them with grey Copic markers. I cut out the coloured squares, stamped the squares with the Text Background clear stamp in coordinating Distress Oxide ink, and blended the edges. I adhered the squares, overlapped as shown, then adhered the dinosaurs, tree image and sentiment using foam adhesive.

Dino card

My brother specifically asked for a dinosaur card for his birthday this year, so that's what he got!
I used the Critters from the Past stamp set from Lawn Fawn, coloured with Copic markers, over a background of Distress Oxide inks.

Fusion: Striped Wreath

Welcome to another Fusion challenge!
You might be wondering how on earth I came up with this card given that the photo inspiration has a black and white striped wreath with a skull? Well, check out the sketch, and tip it on its side - voila!
I also popped the dino up on an action wobbler - check out the video!

Make sure you check out the Fusion blog and join in on the fun!

Challenge me a Christmas Card 9

Welcome back to my series, "Challenge me a Christmas card"!  I asked my friends, family, workmates, choirmates (anyone really) to set me a challenge for a Christmas card. It could be a colour, a theme, a subject, a technique, anything!
My workmate, Trisha (and my brother, Jim) challenged me to make a Christmas card with dinosaur.  Challenge accepted!

Now, before any scientist friends of mine point out that grass on this card is anachronistic (Apatosaurus lived in the Jurassic, and flowering plants, like grass, didn't appear until the Cretaceous), yes, I know.   Suck it up.
And also, in case you were wondering, that's not the Chicxulub meteorite.
It's Halley's comet. So there.

(yes, I am a big nerd.)
Thanks for visiting me for my "Challenge me a Christmas Card" series - I'll be back with another challenge card soon!

Age Awareness day

My brother is a dinosaur expert (I kid you not), so I often make him a dino-themed birthday card.

He is also fond of a laugh.  And he is older than I am. So this is what I came up with for his birthday this year:

New challenge at A Blog Named Hero

Our new challenge at A Blog Named Hero starts today - it's all about making cards for kids!  Seeing as we are collaborating with Lawn Fawn this month, I pulled out a couple of stamp sets and got inky!

Purple and Yellow

Whenever I make cards for kids, I either go with BRIGHT colours, or possibly pastels.  I definitely went with BRIGHT for this one!!

Happy birthday, Jim

My brother had his birthday celebration last weekend, and, as he is kind of an expert on dinosaurs, I had to use that theme for his card.  Paper from Imaginisce and a stamp from SU made the job easy :)  I put the paper onto an acetate card base, just for something different - I really like using acetate, but this one only has strips at the top and bottom that are transparent.
