Case me a Christmas Card - Hop 8

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card 2025 - a Christmas Card series!

Throughout October, there will be a series of 10 hops – two YouTube hops, and eight Instagram hops. Each hop involves participants CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) a card from the next person, drawing inspiration while each creating a Christmas Card. And you can join in!

Background

This series began in November 2016 as a personal challenge to explore different Christmas card styles, with friends suggesting creative ideas. Over time, more cardmakers joined, leading to a format where participants CASE each other's cards. A helpful video by Ardyth Percy Robb outlines a 5-step CASE process—check it out HERE.

This year

This year is a bit different, because I'd love for you to join in! You can join in by making your own CASE, or by commenting on the stops on the hop (either on IG or on YT).

I'm over the moon excited to share that some amazingly generous companies that I love are offering some super generous prizes!

In Alphabetical order:

$25 (or £25) gift card from Alex Syberia

$30 gift card from Altenew

Today's hop

Today, we’re hopping on Instagram – click HERE to start the hop!

Here's my cards for today - I'm CASEing Tracey McNeely! (I couldn't stop - I made two versions!)

I included the layout of Tracey's card, and the floral images, but I changed up the colour, I used die cuts instead of stamps, and I included layers, faux stitching, and embellishments.

Your turn!

Now, you’re invited to join! CASE a card from any hop participant, share your creation via Inlinkz HERE, and you could win a prize from one of our amazing sponsors! Or comment on any of the stops on the hop for a chance to win, too!

To link up your CASE me a Christmas Card project, first share it publicly somewhere you can copy the link – this can be your blog, Instagram, a Flickr account, your Splitcoast gallery – anywhere that allows you to have a URL or website location to link up, and where we can see your post.

By linking your project, you are giving me permission to feature your card on my blog and social media, crediting you as the artist.

Entries close on the 7th of November at 6am AEDT (Melbourne time) - which is 6th Nov, 12 noon Pacific Time.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Finished in February #2

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Here's another card I made to join in with Donna Lewis' Finished in February challenge! I had this die cut panel in my UFO pile (held together with some Press n Seal), so I added some ink blending and some die cuts (and glitter and shine never go astray!)

 Thanks for visiting :)

Birthday floral

Back in December, some crafty friends came over for a crafty day (who am I kidding, it was a tiny bit of crafting and a hell of a lot of chatting!) We each made backgrounds - enough to share with each of us - so we could go home and make something, and we could compare what we made!

One of the backgrounds I was given (thank you, Donna!) was a white embossed panel. I added some ink blending, cut it down, and used it as a partial background on this card (the gold mirror cardstock makes it so difficult to photograph straight on!)

Festive Poinsettia

I recently purchased this STUNNING stamp from Alex Syberia. I did buy the matching layering stencils, but for this card, I decided to do some Copic colouring instead. I paired it with an embossing folder from Pink and Main.

CASE of an older card

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. No posts are paid or sponsored. I appreciate your support!

The other day, Facebook sent me a memory of a card I made back in 2009, so I shared the memory on Facebook. A friend of mine suggested that I make a CASE of this card, so I took up the challenge!

Here's the card photo that popped up on Facebook (the original card used all products from Stampin' Up, all of which, I believe, are now discontinued.) The word die I used on my CASE is also discontinued.

Thanks for visiting :)

Rainbow alcohol pearls

Last month, I had a couple of crafty friends, Deb and Donna, over for a day of fun and friendship. Honestly, we just talked and talked and talked, but got a little bit of crafty stuff done as well. It was fabulous!

Both of my friends brought products with them that I could play with, so I put some of them together on this card.
