Case me a Christmas Card 2025 - Hop 10

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card 2025 - a Christmas Card series!

Throughout October, there has been a series of 10 hops – two YouTube hops, and eight Instagram hops. Each hop involves participants CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) a card from the next person, drawing inspiration while each creating a Christmas Card. And you can join in!

Background

This series began in November 2016 as a personal challenge to explore different Christmas card styles, with friends suggesting creative ideas. Over time, more cardmakers joined, leading to a format where participants CASE each other's cards. A helpful video by Ardyth Percy Robb outlines a 5-step CASE process—check it out HERE.

This year

This year is a bit different, because I'd love for you to join in! You can join in by making your own CASE, or by commenting on the stops on the hop (either on IG or on YT).

Colour shifting magic!

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

A little while ago, I was lucky enough to win a dot card of iridescent and glittery watercolours from Iuile. I decided to use them on this background stamp from Gina K Designs. I'm still surprised at how different the colours look from different angles! Have a look at the holly leaves in the 1st pic compared to the 2nd pic - they're all painted in the same colour, but in different light, they look grey, green, teal or blue!

Too cute to spook for Colorado Craft Company

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

I don't often make Halloween cards, but these stamps from Colorado Craft Company are so cute, I couldn't say no! The card looks a bit lackluster from the front, but the mica watercolours shine when you get a photo from the right angle!

Colorado Craft Company is offering 15% off our Halloween category for the 13th & 14th! Use the code HALLOWEEN15 to claim your discount! (Links are below)

Mosaic Rose for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for Paper Rose Studio.

I cut the Mosaic Rose die from Whisper White cardstock and from black cardstock. I adhered the black die cut to a panel of black cardstock of the same size, and painted it with iuile mica watercolour paints. I then adhered the whisper white die cut over the top of the black layer. I adhered a piece of blue cardstock to a top folding white card base on an angle, adhered the die cut and watercoloured panel on top, and adhered a printed sentiment to the bottom right of the panel.

Julie Hickey Create a card

I'm playing with another panel from Julie Hickey's Create a Card foiled cards. I painted the flowers with Mica watercolour paints from Iuile, and then added some grey Zig marker to the leaves.
