Just a quick card I made using some washi tape from Daiso, and a die cut sentiment from Pink and Main.

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Michelle Williams

Welcome! Last year, I did a series on my blog where I asked people to set me a Christmas card challenge. This year, I'm stepping it up a notch, by asking crafty friends to join me!
How cool is this graphic!! My crafty friend, Kylie Purtell, made it especially for me! YAY!  You can check out her blog HERE.

Today, the challenge theme is to use washi tape - my workmate, Trisha, saw this washi tape at Daiso, and thought she'd challenge me to use it on a Christmas card.

My special guest today is Michelle Williams - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:

I am still not 100% sure if this washi tape is black and silver, or very dark navy blue and silver. I'm leaning toward black now, but when I made this card, I was leaning toward navy, which explains the colour of the sentiment. Either way, this card has a lot of shine from the silver snowflakes on the washi tape, and from the holographic glitter cardstock from which I die cut the large snowflake (unfortunately, the holo nature of the glitter doesn't show in the photo - rats.)

Kindness is goodness is magic!

I am such a lucky lady!  I received a package in the mail today from Jennifer McGuire! A little parcel of happiness, with some handmade foiled cards, a stamp from Hero Arts, washi tape, temporary tattoos, stickers, the list goes on!
I decided to take one of her foiled cards and decorate it.  This required some cutting down (eek! I actually cut a card made by Jennifer McGuire! I'm not quite over the shock of my bald-faced guts!)
I started with some white cardstock from Papertrey Ink.  I added the fairy-tale castle from a Disney Princess stamp set from EK Success. I then cut masks with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders die, and added some Hero Arts shadow ink in Green Hills and Soft Pool, using a Ranger ink blending tool over the masks.  I put some of the washi tape from Jennifer on the left of the card, then popped up the foiled sentiment on some foam tape.  A sprinkling of sequins from Simon Says Stamp, and I'm done!
The foiling is just so shiny - I've never done foiling, and I've never actually seen the results of foiling with a Minc machine up until today. I'll have to put it on my wish list for next year (I've already getting something else from my crafty wish list for Christmas - can you say MISTI?!)

Washi tape for Father's Day

It's Father's Day this coming Sunday in Australia, so I decided to pull out my washi tape and make some quick cards.
And seeing as I had my washi tape out and I was having fun, I decided to make some birthday ones!

Fusion - Dining Splendor

Another FUSION challenge begins today - and I decided to go with a fusion of the photo and the sketch - I just tipped the sketch on its side!

http://fusioncardchallenge.blogspot.com.au/

So, here's the thing. When I finished making the card above, I wasn't entirely convinced I liked it - there's not enough white space for my liking.  So I made this card as well.
And then I wasn't entirely sure which one I preferred.  So I decided to show you both, and let you decide!

Bookmarks

I recently made a bookmark for each of the ladies in my bookclub.

I punched the top of the bookmarks with Stampin' Up Tag Topper punch.  I used various different washi tapes for the background. I then die cut the names out of the background using either Lawn Fawn or PTI letter die cuts, and also out of a contrasting colour. I then stuck the background piece and the letters to a white base card, and added some ribbon and twine to the top.

Fusion #4!

Time for another Fusion Challenge!!
I thought about putting this onto a pale pink base card, to better match the photo inspiration, but I'm just in love with white space!  I kind of swapped the sketch to put the coloured bit at the bottom of the card rather than the top - I'm usually very literal with sketches, so I'm trying to allow myself to be a bit more flexible with sketches :)
I used 4 different washi tapes from We R Memory Keepers (I was given the Washi tape and dispenser kit for Christmas from my friend, Scott - aren't I a lucky girl!!)  The butterfly dies are from Simon Says Stamp, and the sentiment stamp and the inks are from Hero Arts.

Drop in at Fusion to check out what the rest of the design team have been up to, and join in with this Fusion challenge!

P.S. Happy Valentine's day :)

Playing with blues for CASual Fridays

Going through my stash of cards in the past few days, I realised I'm seriously low in birthday cards for blokes! The challenge at CASual Fridays Stamps seemed to be a good fit to fix this problem ;)

Fusion #3!

Time for another challenge at Fusion!
I used both the photo and the sketch this week, to create this fusion (I just put the sentiment below the dots instead of above!):
The red polka dot circles are covered in washi tape.  The musical circles have been stamped with Hero Arts Music Background.  The heart is punched with a Stampin' Up punch, in their red Glimmer Paper.  I then trimmed a couple of mm off the edge, and layered it on some shiny paper (this is from a gift bag a friend gave me (thanks Janet!) from Happy Lab - it was originally gold, but I coloured it red with a Copic Marker.) The sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.
Make sure you visit Fusion and join in on the fun!  Thanks for visiting :)

A new challenge blog, and a favourite!

This is my 2nd post for today - for my Retro Sketches post, click HERE.

The Card Concept is a new challenge blog - and looks like it will be great fun!  I thougth I'd try to combine their first challenge, which is a colour scheme (kraft, pink, espresso and vanilla - and I went with the clean and simple style), with this week's MUSE challenge - which is CASEing a gorgeous, sunny card by Laurie Willison.

I love the smooth image you get with Hero Arts stamps and Shadow Inks.  The pink HA Solid Flower looked a little blotchy to start, but the shadow ink just needs a bit of time to smoothe out perfectly :)   I traced over the sentiment (from Avery Elle) and the faux stitching with my Sakura Gelly Roll glimmer pen for a bit of subtle shimmer.
