A bunch of simple cards

I made a bunch of cards of the weekend using some GORGEOUS paper from Cristina Re - some of this paper is now discontinued, but I just love it.  It makes cardmaking very easy, as you can just let the paper take centre stage.

I decided to just make a pile of cards for a variety of occasions, but with the exact same card layout.  The only differences are what paper I used, and the wording and placement of the sentiment.  Just goes to show what a difference colour and pattern can make on a very simple card!
This gorgeous paper has a shiny, slightly metallic base, but the flowers and butterflies are flocked - just beautiful!
BTW, this card uses the reverse side of the paper used in the 2nd card in this post - see above - much more subtle colour this way.

And then I decided I was on a roll, so I did some in landscape orientation as well.

I added some Wink of Stella glitter brush to the centres of the flowers on this "Sky Blossom" paper.

(On the offchance that anyone at Cristina Re is reading this (you never know!), PLEASE bring back Sky Blossom!  I'm so miserable that it was discontinued!)

I hope you have a fabulous day - thanks for visiting :)

A missed challenge

Those of you who follow my blog (and thank you so much for doing so!) will notice that I sometimes go missing in action (these times usually coincide with a mountain of marking - I teach Biology to Uni students, and I often get buried under hundreds and hundreds of prac reports, exams and assignments).  During these times, I still keep up with looking at blogs and challenges, and some of the challenges I store away for a future cardmaking session.
This card fits in with a recent CASual Fridays challenge that I missed - it was called Black & White plus One - that is, make a card with black and white, but add one more colour.  I went with a red piece of flocked acetate from the recently released Stampin' Up catalogue.

Damask congrats

I wanted to make a card for Moxie Fab's Damask and Brocade challenge.  I absolutely love this black flocked damask paper from Stampin' Up, so I started with that.  I added the sentiment and the ribbon, but it just didn't look right - so, seeing as most anything can be improved with a bit of glitter, I added some bling :)
Will also submit this to CASual Fridays Put a Bling on it Challenge.
