CAS(e) this sketch #340

I am very excited to be a guest of CAS(e) this sketch today for challenge #340!

I did some Distress Oxide ink blending using a stencil from Paper Rose Studio and Life Changing Blender Brushes from Picket Fence Studio. I then added a sentiment from Avery Elle and that's it - a clean and simple, one-layer card!

CASe this sketch

I'm playing along today with "CASe this sketch" today - I modified the sketch a little bit, but not heaps!

I used a die from Paper Roses over a panel of Yupo with alcohol inks. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Sympathy cards

Sympathy cards are not easy. So when I made them, I tend to make a few the same so I have some spares on hand. I also try to make them not too masculine, not too feminine. I was inspired by a card by Lydia Evans on the CAS-ual Fridays shop - you can see it HERE as one of the samples for this stamp set.
I used "Casual Comfort" from CAS-ual Fridays, with a sentiment from "Lots to Say" by Reverse Confetti. I used a bunch of different Shadow Inks from Hero Arts - Antiqua, Pool, Soft Pool and Cornflower. For this card, I masked the sentiment, so it is a one layer card.
This green one, however, is not one layer - it started off that way, but I had ink bleed through the mask, so I had to cover up the boo boo.
Same stamps for this one, but I used Hero Arts Shadow inks in Green Hills, Lime Green, Soft Leaf, Field Greens and Fresh Lawn.

Thinking of you

Had a miserable day today, for multiple reasons, so I took some time to myself when I got home from work to create something with some recent purchases from Simon Says Stamp.
Also, I kinda CASEd THIS CARD from Coralynn Murray for A Blog Named Hero. Check it out. Now. It's gorgeous.
I followed the sketch at CAS(e) this sketch

I'll be sharing this at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is Clean and Simple.

Blue and gold birthday

I'm playing along with CAS(e) this sketch today!
I used the Highline Ironwork background stamp from Hero Arts, gold embossed and then coloured with Zig clean color real brush markers and water. I added 2 strips of gold foil cardstock on either side of the panel, then a sentiment die-cut using a die from Papertrey Ink, and a stamp from Avery Elle.

CAS(e) this sketch #204

I made this quick card this morning to play along with this week's CAS(e) this sketch challenge.
I used a flower image from Altenew's "Botanical Garden" set, with a Reverse Confetti sentiment from "You're So" and the matching die set. I stamped the flower in Hero Arts Wet Cement ink, and then coloured over it with Copic markers.  Yes, I know, Hero Arts Shadow Inks are not Copic fast, but I wanted the flower image to look a little bit like it was in soft focus, not sharp, so that the sentiment would stand out on top.

CASe this sketch

This card came about because of three reasons. One - I wanted to join in with the latest CAS(e) this sketch challenge.  Two - I recently bought some Zig clean colour real brush markers, and I wanted to test them out on some different types of cardstock (I used Stampin' Up heavy weight whisper white for this card). Three - I saw THIS VIDEO from Kelly Latevola this morning, and I was inspired by her colouring (as I always am!) In my dreams, I can colour in images like Kelly can :)

CAS(e) this sketch #197

I'm playing along with CAS(e) this sketch today. I made a card similar to this last year, but I used watercolouring on that card.  Today, I pulled out my Copic markers and tried to channel my inner Kelly Latevola

I'll also be sharing this card at Hero Arts for their Holiday Challenge

I'll also be sharing at Jingle Belles, for their Mele Kalikimaka challenge, and at The Flower Challenge - their theme is "A Special Occassion".

Floral background

I just got a delivery this morning of some heavier weight Whisper White cardstock from Stampin' Up (thanks heaps, Sue!) But, seriously, why did it take them so long?
Today, I decided to have a go at the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch - using a background stamp would have been fun, but I wanted to use the "Birthday Blooms" set from Stampin' Up that I just got.
I stamped in Hero Arts Wet Cement shadow ink, and then coloured using Copic markers.  Now, before you say that Shadow Inks are not Copic friendly - I know! I didn't want the image lines to be crisp, I wanted them to be soft and not harsh at all, so I went with a pale ink that would bleed a little bit with Copics. I like the soft feel it gives.

CASEing a sketch

Another quick Christmas card today - this time, using a sketch from CAS(e) this sketch.

It is SO DIFFICULT to photograph the shimmer and sparkle that Wink of Stella gives - trust me, these dangling ornaments are sparkly with both Wink of Stella all over, and stickles in the middle.

CASe-ing this sketch with more snowflakes

I'm making the most of a couple of days free this week - NO MARKING!! HOORAY!!

I saw this sketch from CASe this sketch, and immediately decided to join in.  However, I had a heap of ideas in my head of how to tackle this sketch - many of which involved acetate, some of which involved lots of stamping and colouring - I took a while to settle on this idea, which involved neither acetate nor colouring.

I'm also going to share this card over at Hero Arts for their Holiday Challenge, in the White Out Category.

A sketch and a challenge

I made this very quick CAS card yesterday. I was wearing some new earrings that have a blue and white floral print with a silver rim around the edge, so I wanted to make something with blue, white and silver.  Dunno how that pink and green managed to creep in there!
I used Avery Elle's sets, "Oh Happy Day" and "So Happy" - I just adore the fonts in these sentiments, and I was so happy when Avery Elle released the "Oh Happy" set with "Happy Birthday" in it!
I embossed the sentiment in silver, and stamped the solid flowers, then the stripey flowers with some Hero Arts shadow inks, and some Stampin' Up inks.
I'll be submitting this to Avery Elle's AEI<3u a="" and="" challenge="" lean="" simple="">, and to CAS(e) this sketch (I tipped the sketch on its side).

Rainbows and a stencil for CAS(E) this sketch

I went to Paperific on Saturday - I bought a heap of envelopes and some cardstock, but only one stamp and one stencil! I decided to use the stencil with my Inktense pencils, and I followed the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this sketch.
