Purple floral birthday

I made a handful of cards back in December with these flowers in this arrangement, all with different colour schemes and sentiments - this is the third in the series.

I used Altenew flowers, white embossed, then painted with Distress Inks onto watercolour cardstock. The sentiment from Clearly Gina K is stamped in Distress Oxide ink.

Rainbow birthday with vellum

Still working at using up alcohol ink and Yupo panels. I have a pile of them!

I stamped and white embossed the flowers from Simon Says Stamp onto vellum and coloured the back of the vellum with Copic markers to match the alcohol ink colours that the flowers were sitting atop. I added a die cut happy (from Simon Says Stamp) and a stamped sentiment from Birch Press, and some sequins were the final touch.

Birthday cards for Gran

It was my mum's birthday a few weeks ago, and back in January, I spent a couple of days with my niece and nephew, so we spent some time making cards for Gran's birthday.

The first one is by Miss Samantha (who is 12) - she used the Sketched Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with Zig clean color real brush markers, with a sentiment die also from Simon Says Stamp.

Here's Thomas' card - he is 8. He used stamps from Altenew, also coloured with Zig markers.

To the happy couple

A beautiful young couple, Annabelle and Elliott, were married last month in a lovely ceremony to which I was invited. I have known Annabelle since she was a child, as she is the daughter of one of my dearest workmates - I've been friends with Sarah for 19 years!

I chose this colour scheme because the pale peach panel was actually the envelope liner from the wedding invitation. I used stamps and dies all from Simon Says Stamp.

Fusion: Rainbow cupcake

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I made a fusion of the sketch and the rainbow in the photo, sans the cupcake! I made a rainbow panel of alcohol inks on yupo, added a die cut from CAS-ual Fridays, and a stamped sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Valentine bouquet

Is it just me, or do these flowers look like a heart when they're all coloured in the same colour? (Or have I just missed this for every other card I have made with this stamp?

I used the Blooming Bunch stamp set from Studio Katia, along with Zig markers, and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Embossed Yupo

I watched a video from Jennifer McGuire yesterday. She made over 20 cards, and aimed to use her supplies in ways that aren't immediately obvious. She used embossing folders and mentioned that they are underused. And a little light went off in my head that I hadn't used my Geometric Next Level embossing folders from We R Memory Keepers nearly as much as I should have. The other thing that made another light go off in my head was when Jennifer said that we should think outside the square and try to think about our supplies in different ways. She also has a drawer of partially completed pieces, scraps, leftovers - I have a folder. I pulled out the folder, and right on top was a piece of Yupo with alcohol inks on it. The rest is history.
I posted a video of the yupo piece on Instagram yesterday, and it was quite popular, so I had to make a card from the piece!

The friend die is from Studio Katia, and the sentiment stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. The thing I like most about this card is that it is touchy feely.

Rainbow on yupo

I made a yupo rainbow and posted it on Instagram yesterday, and I had a few comments asking about how I made it, so I decided to make a video.

I used Tim Holtz Ranger alcohol inks on Yupo. The dies are from Altenew and Simon Says Stamp, and the sentiment stamp is from Birch Press Design.

And here's the video!

Happy birthday, friend

I made this card on the same day I made a Valentine's Day card that I posted a couple of weeks ago. I used exactly the same technique, just different colours and a different sentiment.
Thee flowers are from Altenew, the die is from CAS-ual Fridays, and the stamped sentient is from Simon Says Stamp.

Crafter's Choice at A Blog Named Hero

I'm still on a kick to make birthday cards - I never have enough!

I used the Leafy Vines stamp to remove alcohol ink from a yupo panel using alcohol lift ink. I then added a sentiment white embossed on vellum.

Turner Syndrome Awareness Blog Hop

Hello Blogging Friends!!

Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome, instead of two, leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,500 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!

I teach University Biology students about Turner Syndrome every year, and what surprises many students is that Turner Syndrome is not always diagnosed at birth, or even in early childhood. In fact, some women with Turner Syndrome don't realise they have it until they reach maturity.

Nineteen caring Sponsors and eleven DT Members have partnered with us to bring Turner Syndrome Awareness to the Public. For details on how you might win any of these fabulous prizes, please see Lori's TS home page. Thanks for learning About Turner Syndrome

My TS related project uses a few colors from the TS official color board:

Here's what I came up with using this colour scheme:
I used stamps from CAS-ual Fridays, Wplus9 and Lil' Inkers Designs.

Make sure that you visit the "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome Awareness Inaugural Blog Hop page to become eligible for prizes!
HOW TO WIN:
  • Leave a comment on the TS Awareness Home Blog Post stating at least one thing you learned about Turner Syndrome. Our Tab titled About Turner Syndrome has a pictorial explanation of many of the symptoms or limitations faced by TS females.
  • Leave a comment on one or more DT blog hop posts.
  • Prizes will be awarded randomly from the comments left on 19 of the DT blog hop posts + by 11 of the designers who are awarding prizes of their own. So the more posts you visit and comment on, the more likely you are to win a prize. Don't forget! You must also leave one comment on the Home Blog, too.
  • We hope this will bring an awareness not only about Turner Syndrome in females, but that if any human being seems a bit out of the ordinary, there could be a health-related or genetic reason for it, and it would be nice to give everyone the benefit of the doubt in our daily lives.
