CASual Fridays: CFC 211

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!

I began with a piece of wood veneer paper, then I used the "Casual Comfort" stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays to stamp and white-emboss the wreath onto vellum. I added a die cut "Friend" fri-die, and a stamp from "Pretty Posies".

Make sure you check out the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog for more inspiration from the Girl Fridays, and join in on our challenge!

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 207

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I used Full on Floral white embossed onto Bristol cardstock, and I used an ink blending tool to add Distress Oxide inks in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. I added the friend fri-die cut from wood veneer cardstock, and a stamped sentiment from Pretty Posies white embossed onto kraft cardstock. I finished with some clear sequins.

Fusion - Mail call

Welcome back to another year at the Fusion challenge!
I used a die from Simon Says Stamp to cut the sentiment, and a die from Lil' Inkers to cut the circle of wood paper. The panel on the right is a scrap of cardstock I had on my desk - I honestly can't remember where it came from, but the images of the flowers make me think it is from Hero Arts.

I have a special guest for our anniversary today - my friend, Linda Trace! Make sure you visit the Fusion blog to check out her card, and also visit her blog to leave her some love!

Happy anniversary

It was my parents' wedding anniversary a few week's ago, so I made them this card.
I started with a background stenciled with the Large Flower Stencil from Hero Arts, inked in Worn Lipstick Distress Inks.  I took a couple of wood veneer birdies and coloured them in pink and pale brown, then added multiple layers of clear embossing powder. I finished with a die cut and stamped sentiment from Avery Elle.

Fusion: Easter

Welcome to a new Fusion challenge!
I tried to make a fusion of the photo and the sketch, but the sketch just wouldn't cooperate with my card! So I went just with the photo :)

Masculine birthday card

I've been on a masculine card kick this month for the A Blog Named Hero challenge - have you joined in yet?  There's a voucher from Hero Arts up for grabs, and you still have a few hours left!!
I used the lattice background stamp from Hero Arts, along with a leafy stamp from Stampin' Up, and a sentiment from A Muse Art stamps.

Happy Mother's Day

I made this card earlier this week for my Mum - Happy Mother's Day, Mum!
I used a stencil from Heidi Swapp, a sentiment stamp from Hambo Stamps, butterflies from Studio Calico and Stampin' Up Bermuda Bay ink.

Happy birthday, Sharyne

It is my friend Sharyne's birthday today, and I actually made 3 cards for her before I was happy with one to send to her! This is the winner ;)
I started with the sentiment from Hero Arts, and then sponged Distress Ink using a stencil and added strips of peachy coloured cardstock. It still looked a bit bare, so I went through my stash of little embellishments and found this darling little wood veneer birdie.  Some flat and some faceted sequins in white and peach were the finishing touch.
I'll be submitting this to Runway Inspired Challenge: I was inspired by the peachy stripes. And is anyone else as excited as I am at the length of the skirts in the recent fashion shows?  Mid calf skirts are making a comeback - hooray!!

Dots and Stars

Some more homework from Online Card Classes "Stretch your Stamps 2", using graphic stamps and a kissing technique used by Debby Hughes in today's class. All the makings for a masculine birthday card.

Inspired by.....Scrabble!

This is my 3rd post for today (sorry!) - for my Retro Sketches post, click HERE.

This week's challenge at Keep it Simple is to use text.  I've had these wooden tiles from Kaiser Craft in my stash for a while now, so I thought it was high time I used them!

I used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp with a bunch of Hero Arts Shadow inks for the background. I used Tsukineko ink daubers to apply the ink.
 Here's what's on the inside:
The rainbow background stamp inside the card is from Stampin' Up (but it's discontinued, I think).  The sentiment stamps are from Hero Arts (wishing you) and CASual Fridays (birthday).
I thought I'd also submit this card to CASual Fridays "In a word", although there's more than one word!
