Alcohol lift ink for Paper Rose Studio

This card was an experiment, but it is one that I quite like!

I made a panel of alcohol ink on yupo, leaving some of the edges white. I applied the Mandala stencil, and then added alcohol lift ink heavily using a foam ink blending tool. I blended all over panel, so that some of the lifted ink got moved to the edges. This means that the middle of the panel has darker ink under the stencil, but near the edges there is lighter yupo under the stencil.

I stamped the sentiment from the Poppies clear stamp set in Versamark ink onto a strip of vellum, and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then wrapped the vellum around the yupo panel before adhering the whole panel to a white card base with tape runner adhesive. Some clear sequins were the finishing touch!

Pink hugs

This card has an image stamped over alcohol inks and alcohol pearls using Alcohol lift ink. It's not the easiest to see, though.

I used a floral image from Studio Katia, with a die from Pink and Main and a sentiment stamp from Clearly Besotted.

Happy mother's day to my Mum

Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers out there. This is the card I made for my Mum.

I started with a panel of Yupo with blue and aqua alcohol inks. I then stamped over it with a floral stamp from Wplus9 "Kind Soul" with alcohol lift ink to remove some of the alcohol ink. I added a sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp, and an ancient stamp from Artee Stamps (a company that is no more).

Shining mandala hugs

I've had an Alcohol Ink Blending Pen for months now - this is the first card I've made using it!

I used the shining mandala stamp press from Birch Press Design with alcohol lift ink over a yupo panel.  I removed more colour from specific parts of the design using the blending pen, then white embossed the sentiment onto some vellum and finished with some sequins.

Lift Ink Fuchsias

I had this panel of alcohol ink on Yupo, decided to use some Lift Ink on it, and somewhere along the way, this card became a CASE of a Christmas card I made for my Challenge me a Christmas Card series.

 I used the Hummingbird stamp set from Avery Elle, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Of course, because this is a lift ink card, there is anther card to go along with it using the lifted ink - stay tuned for that card next week!

Crafter's Choice at A Blog Named Hero

I'm still on a kick to make birthday cards - I never have enough!

I used the Leafy Vines stamp to remove alcohol ink from a yupo panel using alcohol lift ink. I then added a sentiment white embossed on vellum.

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Barb Ghig

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!

My guest today is Barbara Ghigliotti, and she has challenged me to make a card using alcohol lift ink. You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:

 I used the Christmas Rose Bouquet stamp from Wplus9 and Alcohol Lift Ink to remove alcohol ink from a panel of Yupo (to see how this technique is done, check out Jennifer McGuire's awesome post HERE). I fussy cut around the image, before adhering it to a white card base, and added a Birch Press sentiment die cut from gold foil cardstock and stamped and white embossed onto black. I finished with some crystals from Studio Katia.

 And then I had the negative space of the Yupo piece as well as the ink removed from the yupo, so I made another card!

 This one also has a sentiment from Birch Press, and some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Alcohol ink, yupo, lift ink and a mistake

So, this weird background came about because of a mistake. I made an alcohol ink background, then used Lift Ink with some Altenew stamps on it. I cut it in half and made one card (I posted that one last month), but then I used a stamp cleaner to spray on the stamps, and some of the cleaner got on the yupo and removed some of the alcohol ink. I thought it was ruined, but I looked at it again and decided it was interesting.

The happy birthday die is from Simon Says Stamp.

Lift ink sympathy card

I made this sympathy card using a Yupo panel with alcohol inks.

 I stamped on the alcohol ink panel with Alcohol lift ink and stamps from Altenew. I added a stamped sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays and some dew drops from Studio Katia.

Alcohol lift ink part 2

When using Alcohol Lift ink, you get two for the price of one, because you get to reuse the alcohol ink that you lifted with the lift ink on another card - does that make sense?  I stamped this Penny Black Flower Cascade image in lift ink over a panel of yupo with alcohol inks on it, and then, without cleaning the stamp, I stamped the lifted ink on the stamp onto a blank white card base. This card is the result.

I decided to colour in the image with Derwent pencils to match the colour of the outline image,  added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink, and some faux stitching in matching gel pens because I thought the image was a bit too far to the right, and needed some balancing out on the left.

Lift ink hugs

I bought a pad of Alcohol Lift Ink at Paperific (thanks to Lesley at Little Bits) and made this card using a yupo panel I had inked up a couple of months ago.

I used the Flower Cascade stamp from Penny Black with the Lift Ink to remove the inks from the yupo panel. I cut it down and adhered it slightly to the left of a top folding card, and then added a layered die cut sentiment from Pink and Main. It's really hard to see in the photo, but the pale purple/orchid die cut has Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink blended towards the bottom edge, and then Perfect Pearls in water sprayed over the top to give the sentiment a subtle ombre effect and a bit of shine.
