CASE it IG hop

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

I am taking part in the CASE It IG Hop today - to follow along, please visit my IG account and you'll see a list of all of the stops on the hop!

Today, I am CASEing Hannelie Bester - I love that she had a coloured and textured panel with a wide white border on her card. I needed to make a masculine card, so I changed up the colour scheme, and I also changed the medium - I used powdered watercolours instead of ink blending, and then I highlighted the pattern with some gold Hero wax.

Christmas wishes for Paper Rose

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. No posts are paid or sponsored. I appreciate your support!

Today, I'm sharing a card for Paper Rose Studio.

I used the Christmas Poinsettia Coverplate metal die to make this Christmas card (only 4 months to go!). I cut the coverplate from some gold mirror cardstock. I used this diecut as a guide to create two separate panels of Bristol cardstock coloured with red and green powdered watercolour. I cut the green and red panels with the same die. On the red panel, I used copic markers to colour the bright red berries and the yellow centre of the poinsettias.  I adhered the gold diecut to a white card base, and used the diecut inlay technique to add the coloured pieces into it. I finished with a printed Christmas sentiment.

Happy birthday, Caitie!

My 2nd eldest niece, Caitie, had her 18th birthday this week - happy birthday, Caitie!

I made this card for her using a background stamp from Altenew, white embossed onto watercolour paper and coloured with nuance powders and perfect pearls. The heart die is from Hero Arts, and the sentiment is from Julie Hickey Designs.

Craft Roulette

I played along with Craft Roulette yesterday - the parameters were:

Project: Card for someone special

Colours: Christmas tree

Element: Wreath

Random: Hand drawn border

The only one that needs an explanation on my card is that a friend of mine has a white Christmas tree with pink and purple decorations.

Here's what I came up with:

Craft Roulette #136

I joined in with Craft Roulette on Saturday morning. The parameters were:

Project: Tic Tac Toe

Colours: Violet, Red +2 (I used orange and yellow)

Element: Leaves

Case me a Christmas Card with Ardyth Percy Robb

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card for 2022 - a Christmas Card blog series!

From October to December, I will link to a series of guest cardmakers on my blog. I will CASE one of their cards, and they will CASE one of mine! CASE stands for either Copy And Share Everything, or Copy And Selectively Edit. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends, but making a new card that is our own. And, of course, the card we each make has to be a Christmas card!

Background

In November 2016, I started this a little series on my blog. It started with me wanting to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone with my Christmas cardmaking, so I asked friends to challenge me to do something different. 2016 challenges included using embroidery thread on a card, making a food themed card, making a geeky Christmas card (it had the Tardis on it) and making a dinosaur themed card.

In 2017, I asked some of my cardmaking friends to join me with these challenges. Then, in 2020, I changed things up a bit by asking each of my guests to CASE one of my cards and I would CASE one of theirs. Ardyth Percy Robb made a video in 2020 (linked here) of a 5 step process that I use all the time when I am making a CASE of anybody's card, so I encourage you to check out her video!

Today's guest

Today, my guest is Ardyth Percy Robb! I have CASEd one of her cards that you can find HERE.

All of the products I used are linked below :)

And I made a video!

This is the card I Cased:

Ardyth also Cased one of my cards - you can find it HERE

And she made a video, too!

This graphic was designed for me by my niece, Lauren Frankas - thank you so much, Lauren <3

(Sadly, the scalloped edge punch I used is discontinued, but you could use a scalloped edge die instead.)

Hip to be Square for Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero

The current challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero is to use squares. I had a square left over from the card I made for the launch of the challenge, so I made this card with it.
