Long line leaves

 Today, I'm sharing 4 cards I made using the Long Line Leaves background stamp and coordinating layering stencils, from Concord & 9th and Kristina Werner. 

I stamped the image in Versamark ink and embossed it with Copper embossing powder from Hero Arts. I coloured in the background with a dark burgundy Copic marker, and then used the stencil to ink blend over the leaves in pink and gold ink. I added shine with Perfect Pearls in water sprayed over the stencil. the sentiment is white embossed onto rose gold mirror cardstock and I added some peach coloured bling.  

 

 The background stamp is square, so I had some leftovers to make another card. 

I decided to make the same card in blue and gold as well - which one do you prefer?

Hero Arts My Monthly Hero kit

The new My Monthly Hero Kit is now available - I made this one-layer card using stamps from the kit. I hand-cut some masking tape to create the snow banks, I added a moon with Perfect Pearls shine, and glimmer from a gelly roll sakura stardust pen.

Online card class - Spring Card Camp day 1

 I think I have done every single Online Card Class - they're so much fun! It's just a pity that work has to come first :( 

Day 1 was all about using water with stamps or stencils, and one technique gave two card fronts for the price of one - gotta love that!

My Monthly Hero December release!

 The December My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons are now available at Hero Arts!  Today, I'm sharing a card using the new kit.  

 The kit includes three of the four Reactive ink colours I used on this card - I added Blue Hawaii to the top as well. I made the moon by using a circle mask while I ink blended, then I masked around the circle and added some versamark ink, before brushing on some Perfect Pearl powder. I then coloured in the grey blobs with a copic marker.

Feathers for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card using dies from Paper Rose Studio. 

 

 I started by cutting the feathers from white cardstock and adhering them to a white panel. I then added three different colours of Distress Inks using a blending brush, and then added a stencil over the top and added more ink blending. I splattered the panel with water, and then with Perfect Pearls in water. I adhered the panel to a card base, adhered the sentiment with foam adhesive, and finished with a scattering of sequins.

Release day at Picket Fence Studios

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios, and there is a definite theme happening this month! All of the products I used are listed below, along with all of the other products in the release!

For this first card, I watercoloured the sea and the sky, and I then stamped the whale's tail in blue and black inks, white embossed the sentiment, added some white gel pen to the waves around the tail, and then stamped some seagulls as a finishing touch.

For this more colourful, slimline card, I used a new stencil in the background, and splattered some perfect pearls in water to add some shine. I stamped and clear embossed the merpeople onto some vellum, cut them out with the coordinating die, and adhered them (the glue is hidden behind the embossing). I finished with some of the sequin mixes in this release.

 

 

For my third card today, I adhered the mermaid mask to navy cardstock with pixie spray, then sprayed the panel with white Distress spray, and then again with perfect pearls mixed with water. When that dried, I did it again, and then went around the image with white gel pen dots. I finished with a blue stamped sentiment and some little glass beads for bubbles.

Welcome to my last post for Case me a Christmas Card for 2020 - a slight variation on my annual Challenge me a Christmas Card blog series!

From October to December, I will link to a series of guest cardmakers on my blog. I will CASE one of their cards, and they will CASE one of mine! CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends, but making a new card that is our own. And, of course, the card we each make has to be a Christmas card!

Today, my guest is Jennifer McGuire. I have CASEd one of her cards that you can check out HERE.

Ardyth came up with a genius acronym to help you make a Case of a card without making a direct copy of it - LIMES. I am going to be using this acronym for all my Cases from now on: 

 

List: Navy, clear embossing, snowflakes, Perfect Pearls, Slimline, Holographic cardstock, silver beads

Include: Navy card, clear embossing, Perfect Pearls

Modify: Perfect Pearls painted into image rather than random

Exclude: Slimline card, snowflakes, holographic cardsstock

Spin: Glitter sentiment
