Challenge me a Christmas Card with Kylie Purtell

Welcome to "Challenge me a Christmas Card" for 2018!
My guest today is Kylie Purtell, and she has challenged me to make a card using Chibi lights. You can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's what I came up with:
I sued the Neat and Tangled set "Santa's Wonderland", along with Stitched Hillside Border dies from Lawn Fawn. I did the sky with Distress Oxide Inks,  a spray of water and some Perfect Pearls. Santa and his tree are coloured with Copic Markers.
Of course, this card is perfectly OK, but so far, doesn't meet the challenge. You have to know the secret of where to press!

I will be sharing this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is "Anything Goes".

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Kelly Latevola

Welcome! Last year, I did a series on my blog where I asked people to set me a Christmas card challenge. This year, I'm stepping it up a notch, by asking crafty friends to join me!
How cool is this graphic!! My crafty friend, Kylie Purtell, made it especially for me! YAY!  You can check out her blog HERE.

Today, the challenge theme is Glow in the Dark

My special guest today is Kelly Latevola  - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE, and she has a video on her You Tube channel!

Here's my take:

And I made a video!

PS after I finished the video, but before I photographed the card, I added some Wink of Stella to every second stripe on the tree, to the lights on Blitzen and to Rudolph's bow tie.

P.S. There is ONE MORE DAY to leave a comment on THIS POST from November 26th to be in with a chance to win a voucher from Poppy Stamps!

Celebrating with Chibitronics and A Blog Named Hero

Hello! I have an interactive card for you today for the challenge at A Blog Named Hero! I know, it's not even time for Christmas in July yet, but it's never to early to start making Christmas cards!!
I used the Snowy Tree cling stamp from Hero Arts - unfortunately discontinued, but the Color Layering Christmas tree stamp is very similar. I stamped it after colouring direct to the rubber with some Zig markers, then spread the colour on the watercolour paper with a water brush. I then stamped the same image over the top to add back in the detail that was lost with the water.
I die cut the star from the top of the tree, and added a Copic coloured piece of vellum behind the negative space. I also gold embossed the sentiment on vellum and wrapped it around the watercolour panel.
With my first card using the Chibitronics lights (see HERE), I attached the decorated panel to the card base using foam adhesive tape.  This worked great, but I found that when I lit up the card, you could see where the foam tape was behind the panel. I tried a different approach with this card - I attached the watercolour cardstock to a piece of red layering paper from Hero Arts, and I die cut a larger star behind where the smaller star is on top of the tree. I then used two layers of fun foam to raise this panel up on the card base - I just cut another star in the fun foam, and a square in the bottom right corner to make room for the battery housing.
I plan to write a note inside this card to make sure the recipient knows where to press to get the light to shine :)

Here's a little video:
