A Caffeinated Owl for Paper Rose

Hello! Today, I's sharing a simple card using Ashley the Owl from Paper Rose.

I stamped Ashley the Owl in black hybrid ink, and coloured them in with Copic markers, and fussy cut around the image. I stamped and white embossed the "A little bird told me" sentiment onto a piece of black cardstock, and cut that to the same width as my card. I placed the "Leafy Circle Lattice" stencil on the bottom of my card, and inked it up with Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink using a blender brush. When I removed it, I went over the area with Abandoned Coral Oxide ink. I adhered the black strip directly to the card, and popped Ashley the Owl up on foam adhesive.

Neighborhood houses for Hero Arts

It's been 2 weeks since I posted a rainbow card - I thought I'd better post this in case your thought I was unwell :)

I used the Neighborhood Houses Fancy Dies from this month's My Monthly Hero release, along with a sentiment from a HeroScapes set.

Case me a Christmas card with Jenny Colacicco

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card for 2021 - a Christmas Card blog series!

From October to December, I will link to a series of guest cardmakers on my blog. I will CASE one of their cards, and they will CASE one of mine! CASE stands for either Copy And Share Everything, or Copy And Selectively Edit. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends, but making a new card that is our own. And, of course, the card we each make has to be a Christmas card!

Background

In November 2016, I started this a little series on my blog. It started with me wanting to challenge myself to step outside my comfort zone with my Christmas cardmaking, so I asked friends to challenge me to do something different. 2016 challenges included using embroidery thread on a card, making a food themed card, making a geeky Christmas card (it had the Tardis on it) and making a dinosaur themed card.

In 2017, I asked some of my cardmaking friends to join me with these challenges. Then, in 2020, I changed things up a bit by asking each of my guests to CASE one of my cards and I would CASE one of theirs. Ardyth Percy Robb made a video in 2020 (linked here) of a 5 step process that I use all the time when I am making a CASE of anybody's card, so I encourage you to check out her video!

Today's guest

Today, my guest is Jenny Colacicco. I have CASEd two of her cards that you can check out HERE.

All of the products I used are linked below :)

And I made a video!

This is the card I Cased:

Jenny also Cased one of my cards - you can find it HERE

Blue Christmas for Paper Rose

I have a navy blue and silver Christmas card to share today for Paper Rose.

I started with a panel of navy cardstock, and I ink blended over the Flowy Leaves stencil with Hero Arts Unicorn white ink, before adhering it to a white card base. I then cut the Baubles with Bows dies from the Snuggle Christmas patterned paper and from silver mirror cardstock, and glued them together, before adhering them to the navy panel with foam adhesive. I added the printed sentiment from the Crisp Christmas sentiment sheets, and drew in the strings with a silver gel pen.

Hero Arts global team announcement

Hello, crafty friends. I am GIDDY with excitement today, because I am a part of the brand new Hero Arts global team!

To celebrate, I made this card to say hello! It has a sparkly sentiment because I'm excited. It has the Eucalyptus Bold Prints stamp because I'm Australian. And it has a rainbow because - um - it's me?

Make sure you visit the Hero Arts blog to find out more!

Release day at Picket Fence Studios

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios!

There are some awesome new products in this release, including dies for Mini Slim Line cards!

My favourite would have to be the watercolor roses stamp set - here are two cards I made using it.

The background on this card is white cardstock that I coated with Paper Glitz Pink Prom Night. I then cut it with one of the dies from the mini slim line stitched and scalloped rectangles die cutting system.
