Fusion - Mother's Day

 Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

 

 I used a tag from Heidi Swapp/Minc, foiled with hot pink foil. I then stenciled over it using a Tim Holtz stencil, tied a ribbon and twine to the top, and used a stencil from Simon Says Stamp for the background.

Border die over alcohol ink for Paper Rose

 Today, I'm sharing a card using a gorgeous border die from Paper Rose Studio.

 

I began with a panel of Yupo and added alcohol inks (Gumball, Wild Plum and Amethyst) and blending solution. While it was drying, I cut the decorative border die from white cardstock twice. I adhered the yupo panel to a top folding card front, and then adhered the die cuts on either side of the yupo panel. 

I cut out the sentiment from Big Black and White sentiment sheets with a circle die, and then ran it through my Minc machine with hot pink foil, before adhering this piece with foam adhesive to the centre of the card.

Fusion: Easter Eggs

I ignored the photo this month and used the sketch instead, using some patterned paper from my stash, matted on some dark pink cardstock, with a printed sentiment from Paper Rose Studio that I foiled with my mini Minc. Also, how hard is it to photograph foil well?!

Foiled background

I've recently been trying to chip away at my pile of UFOs (UnFinished Objects). I found this printed sheet from Minc that I'd foiled in rose gold ages ago. I added some Distress Oxide ink with a life changing blender brush, and added a sentiment from Taylored Expressions.

On this card, the sentiment is from Ink to Paper, white embossed onto black cardstock.

Doodling over alcohol inks

On the weekend, I went through a pile of UFOs (unfinished objects) and found this panel of pink,  brown and aqua alcohol ink with rose gold foil on yupo. I wasn't a fan (hence why it was in my UFO pile), but I remembered a video from Sandy Allnock where she doodled over an alcohol ink panel, so I thought I'd give it a try.

 The sentiment is a printed sheet from Paper Rose that I foiled with rose gold foil.

Christmas Fun Kit

I recently ran a cardmaking class for some of my workmates via Zoom. I had to keep the cards simple - no embossing, no die cutting, no stamping, because the participants did not have access to any of those tools, and many had no experience with cardmaking at all. So I put together and mailed out little kits using cardstock and patterned paper from Paper Rose Studio, along with foam adhesive, glue dots and envelopes. I came up with a variety of designs myself so that the participants would have some inspiration, as every kit I made was different! Here are my ideas for some quick and easy cards!

Some of the sentiments are from the Crisp Christmas sentiment sheets, some of which I gold foiled using Heidi Swapp gold foil and my Minc machine.

Foiling a stamped image: Addicted to CAS

Hello! I'm excited today because I have been invited to be a guest designer at Addicted to CAS - the theme this week is "Wish". I also have a fun technique to share with you!

I started by making an ink pad using Ranger Cut and Dry, and inked it up with Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Paint. I then used the "Make a wish" stamp set from Create a Smile, and inked up the word "wish" with my home made ink pad. I waited for the paint to dry, then ran it through my Minc Mini machine with some blue reactive foil. It worked a charm!
I then took out the "Lots of Stars" stencil from Create a Smile, and used some Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue inks from Altenew to blend ink over the card. Then, leaving the first stencil in place, I put the Winnie and Walter "Big Bang Sci-Fi Star" Creative Screenings stencil over the top, and inked in some of those little stars over the top. I then added in some more little stars with my Wink of Stella clear shimmer pen.  I added the "upon a star" bit of the sentiment with Sapphire ink, and then I added some Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
