Cards for Ukraine

The cardmaking community is rallying in support of Ukraine - there will be a card auction to raise money for charities helping on the ground in Ukraine. We're also using the hashtag #cardsforukraine to share our blue and yellow creations (the colours of the Ukraine flag).

One-layer birthday for Paper Rose

 Hello! Today, I'm sharing a one -layer card I made using stamps and a stencil from Paper Rose Studio.

 

I started by inking over the Ornate Lattice Stencil with some Catherine Pooler inks. I then stamped the sentiment from Happy Birthday Lovely and the leaves from Peonies stamp set in black ink. I added some subtle colour to the leaves with pale warm grey and pale YR Copic markers.  I finished with some gems from Picket Fence Studios.

Hero Arts Global Team February blog hop!

Introducing the new Design Team at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero

Hello! This week and next, we will be having a series of posts introducing the new Design Team at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero. You will be able to see all of these posts on Instagram, and also on the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page! 

I blended over a panel of cardstock with some Distress Oxide inks, and splattered the panel with some water, before die cutting it with the cover die from Hero Arts. I keep all of the pieces, so that I could use the positive piece on one card, and the cut another panel that I left white, and use the negative pieces from the coloured panel to do the die cut inlay technique to fill in the flowers. I finished with some white embossed sentiments on black cardstock to add some contrast, as well as a large die cut sentiment cut from glitter paper on the 2nd card.

 I'm playing with another panel from Julie Hickey's Create a Card foiled cards. I painted the flowers with Mica watercolour paints from Iuile, and then added some grey Zig marker to the leaves.

A little bird told me for Paper Rose

 Today, I'm sharing a card I've made using a stencil and stamps from Paper Rose Studios.

First I cut the white panels, placed them onto my card base and marked with a pencil just above and below where they ended. I used those marks to give me a guide to how much of the card base I coloured using the "Small Drops" stencil and inks.  I stamped the "A little Bird Told Me" sentiment on the lower panel before adding the panels to the card base using foam adhesive. I stamped the "Little Bird 2" stamp, coloured it with Copic markers and fussy cut it, before adhering it over the stenciled pattern.

I recently bought myself some stamp sets from PinkFresh Studio - this one seems to be very versatile. I went with a rainbow, and added a sentiment from Hero Arts.
