This week, I am celebrating my 1000th post to this blog!  YAY!

I'm  celebrating in two ways - firstly, I'm CASEing some of my all-time favourite cards over the next week - ones that I have pinned on Pinterest.  These are from some of my favourite card-making superstars.  Today's CASE is of a card by Debby Hughes.

Then I decided to make another CASE of the same card!

Here's the second way I'm celebrating - I thought I would do a giveaway :)

I have a bag full of goodies, including things from Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp, Kaisercraft, Stickles, Basic Grey, My Minds Eye, The Twinery, Imaginisce, Pebbles, Prima, Uniball, Kuretake, and a couple of other goodies thrown in for good measure!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!

Now, if you know anything about Jennifer McGuire, you know that she is one of the sweetest and most generous ladies there is.  So when I asked her whether she was OK with me posting a photo of her card here on my blog, not only did she say she was honoured (and my jaw dropped), but she also offered an extra giveaway for my blog event - free registration to the latest Online Card Class - Background Check! Can you IMAGINE how excited I am by this - I have taken part in every single Online Card Class since they began, and I've loved every single one! So, to win a spot in this awesome card class, all you need to do is comment on this post, telling me your favourite background stamp (my current favourite is Hero Arts/Basic Grey Highline Ironwork Background). You have until Friday, 14th August to comment.

Sparkly, wintry Christmas card

I made another wintry Christmas card - once again, using a technique demonstrated by Laura Bassen in the latest Online Card Class, Background Check.  I coloured some white embossing paste with Distress Inks, then applied it over a stencil from Hero Arts.  I then sprinkled on some sparkly embossing powder and waited for the paste to dry before I heat set the embossing powder. This is definitely one of those times when a photo just doesn't do the card justice - there is just so much twinkly, sparkly goodness to this card!

I will be sharing this card over at Virginia's View Challenge.

I'll also be sharing this card over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - this week, it is Anything Goes.

STOP PRESS!!  Before you go!!

I have something special planned on my blog - beginning on the 5th of August, and going all week! I  will be taking inspiration from superstars from the cardmaking world (serious superstars), there will be lots of cards and multiple giveaways! Stay tuned!

Christmas card in August

Today, I am playing with a technique demonstrated by Laura Bassen in the latest Online Card Class - taking pieces of a die cut - but I didn't use it as a background, but as a focal point! (and yes, it is a Christmas card, and no, I'm not crazy - well, not much!) The die is a background die - I just took some of the pieces and arranged them to form a snowflake. I really wish I had some of that magic Press and Seal stuff Laura used - would have made this a MUCH quicker card!

Seeing as I made the snowflake from scraps out of a diecut, and I added little gems, I will be sharing this card over at Virginia's View Challenge.
