Challenge me a Christmas Card with Lisa Stein

Welcome! Last year, I did a series on my blog where I asked people to set me a Christmas card challenge. This year, I'm stepping it up a notch, by asking crafty friends to join me!
How cool is this graphic!! My crafty friend, Kylie Purtell, made it especially for me! YAY!  You can check out her blog HERE.

Today, the challenge theme is "Cross-stitch".

My special guest today is Lisa Stein - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:
I have not tried cross stitch since I was a teenager, and the reason I haven't done it since then because I was SO BAD at it! So I am really proud of myself for doing this teeny tiny bit of cross stitch successfully!
This card hides a surprise - the cross stitched panel is actually a bookmark! And it can be removed without destroying the card - see that tab on the left??
When removed, there is another holly image underneath, hand-drawn to mimic cross stitch, so that the card still looks complete with or without the bookmark in place.

My special guest today is Jenny Martin Rawling - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:
I used dies from Stampin' Up's "Wonderful Wreath" Framelits Dies and from "Holiday Ornaments" Framelits dies, and the "Stitched Rectangles" dies from Lil' Inkers. I also used red glimmer paper from Stampin' Up. The "to the world" part of the sentiment is from Annabelle Stamps "Holly Branch", unfortunately no longer available.  The bows on the baubles are from Newton's Nook "Beautiful Baubles".

And I made a video!

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Kylie Purtell

Today, the challenge theme is "Christmas tree".

My special guest today is none other than the lady who designed my lovely graphic above - Kylie Purtell - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:
I used the Poppy Stamps "Boddington Tree Border" die, which I cut out of watercolour paper I had coloured with Color Burst powders and Perfect Pearls in water. I then used the inlaid die cut technique to add a white die cut, and then put all the little bits back into place (note to self: I must get myself some Glad Press and Seal for this technique!) I added a sentiment from Clearly Besotted white embossed onto black cardstock, and a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.

Guest Designer!

Hello! I'm so excited today because I've been invited to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as a guest designer for the month of December! YAY!
wed-designerspotlight-header
wed-newchallenge-header
The challenge this week is Gift It (make a gift/tag), and we're playing with stamps from  My Favorite Things.

I used the "Adorable Elephants" stamp set from My Favorite Things, which I stamped on some white cardstock with a balloon, fussy-cut her out and then coloured with Copic markers. I then adhered her to a silver tag, and stamped and clear embossed the "To:" and "From:" stamps. I layered the tag onto another tag that I had foiled with Pink foil from Heidi Swapp, using Thermoweb Deco Foil Transfer Gel over the "Ornate" stencil from Tim Holtz. I finished with some white ribbon edged with silver.

Make sure you visit the challenge blog - click on the image below.

There's a $50 gift voucher to be won each week!

Challenge me a Christmas Card with Mateja Povse

Today, the challenge theme is "Michelle Blue" - this is my favourite colour. It is somewhere in the vicinity of royal blue, cobalt blue, Lapis Lazuli, electric blue, you get the gist? Half of my wardrobe is this colour (and a large chunk of the rest of my wardrobe is either navy blue or denim).

My special guest today is Mateja Povse  - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:
I used the "Flurry of Wishes" stamp set from Stampin' Up, along with Zig clean color real brush markers, and a die from Lil' Inkers.
And you can see the shine in this photo:
And I made a video to show you how I made it!

Australian CSPC: Published Part 3

These are the last three cards I had published in the most recent Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine.
For all three cards, I went with a non-traditional Chistmas colour scheme of pink, turquoise and purple.
You've seen me use this "Happy Owlidays" stamp set from Winne & Walter in my Challenge me a Christmas Card series (the challenge was "owls" and my guest was Karren Johnson) - if you missed it, you can check it out HERE.
On this last one, the little birdie's hat looks red, but, trust me, it's pink.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 188

Hello, and welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I used some Zig markers and water to create a loose cloud of colour in the background of the watercolour cardstock. I then stamped over this with stamps from CAS-ual Fridays Bring on the Snowflake and Christmas Carol (sadly discontinued), using inks from Altenew (I used first, second and third generation stamping for the snowflakes). I added a swipe of the darkest ink on the left side, before spraying the whole thing with Perfect Pearls mixed with water. Some sequins were the final touch.
Make sure you visit the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog to check out the rest of the design team's projects!

Merry and bright Christmas trees

I made this card using a stamp from the Neat and Tangled set, "Winter Trees", along with a sentiment from Hero Arts "Joy to the world".
I had originally planned to make this card with green Zigs and spraying with water, but I changed my mind (I'm allowed, I'm female), and went with a non-traditional colour scheme, and used my Aquash pen (water brush) to move the colour. I added some Wink of Stella, and some sequins for some shimmer and shine.
