The dies are from Simon Says Stamp and the stamp is from Birch Press.

Damask background

I made this background by inking up a background stamp with multiple Distress Oxide inks, spraying with water and some Perfect Pearls and then stamping onto watercolour cardstock.

I don't use this technique very often, mainly because most of the background stamps I own have outline images, with not much solid space on the stamp. This stamp is from Simon Says Stamp, and the birthday die is from Create a Smile.

Seahorses from Simon Says Stamp

I have a third card to share with you using the Seahorse Background stamp from the latest release from Simon Says Stamp!

I stamped the seahorse background in my MISTI using Mermaid Lagoon and Cracked Pistachio Distress oxide inks in the bottom 2/3 of the stamp. I then cleaned the stamp, inked the whole thing with Versamark, stamped again over the top of the coloured stamping, then clear embossed. I then used ink blending tools to add colour over the top in the opposite direction to the stamped ombre (ie ink blending Mermaid lagoon over the versamark, ink blending cracked pistachio over the cracked pistachio, and then leaving the bottom third clear.

I added a die cut and stamped happy birthday sentiment (both also from Simon Says Stamp).

Believe in You release from Simon Says Stamp

The new "Believe in you" release from Simon Says Stamp is now live! Yay! The lovely people at Simon Says Stamp sent me the Seahorse Background to have a play with, and here are two of the cards I made:

I made a watercolour background by white embossing the seahorse Background onto watercolour cardstock, and watercoloured it using Zig markers. For the first card, I cut a circle from the middle, and added a die cut and stamped sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (I gold embossed the bottom half of the thanks die.)

I used the circle from the first card to make this second card - I added a gold die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and some gold faux stitching.

I have So. Many. Yupo, Panels. With alcohol inks, obvs. Keep trying to come up with different ways to put them onto cards so that I don't end up with a heap of cards that are same same.

This is a coverplate die from Lil Inkers Designs, with a sentiment die from Mama Elephant, and a stamp from Birch Press.

Pink and salmon Beautiful Day

I've been on a kick of making alcohol inks with foil - I've made a pile of Yupo panels, and this is how I used one of them.

The sentiment is from "Beautiful Day" by Altenew.

Guest Designer for The Flower Challenge part 2

I am very excited to be a guest of The Flower Challenge for July!
You still have a bit of time to join in!

The challenge this month is "Pretty Pastels"

This is what I came up with:

I white embossed a flower from Fantastic Flowers from Sweet n Sassy Stamps, and I coloured it with Zig markers and water. I then used the Splash layering stencil from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous to add some texture around the floral image. I stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from Gina K onto vellum and wrapped it around the panel, and finished with some white enamel dots.

Leafy border die

I recently bought this border die from Altenew - great  for making two cards for the price of one!
I started with a panel of Yupo coloured with green alcohol inks.

I finished this card with stamps from Simon Says Stamp.

Then I made this card with the positive die cut.

The sentiment stamps are also from Altenew.

Coral, navy and greys

I've been stuck in a bit of a rut recently, so I went to Pinterest with the intention of choosing a colour scheme that is a bit out of my comfort zone. I found this one with coral, navy, a cool grey and a pale warm grey.

I used the Floral Fantasy background from MFT, coloured with Zig markers and water, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

Rainbow alcohol pearls with embossing

I made these cards after multiple blog comments, Instagram comments and emails asking if I had made a video showing how to make certain cards using alcohol pearls and alcohol inks. I decided I hadn't made a video in a while, so I did!

I used alcohol pearls in the colours Deception, Splendor, Alchemy, Sublime, Tranquil and Villainous. I stamped and white embossed over the alcohol pearls - I give some tips on embossing on vellum int the video.

For the first card, I used the Kind Soul stamp set from Wplus9, and a sentiment from Sketched Flowers from Simon Says Stamp.

For the 2nd card, I used the large flower from Fantastic Flowers from Sweet n Sassy Stamps, and a sentiment from the same Simon Says Stamp set.

For the third card, I didn't do any embossing on the Yupo, but I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts in Versafine Onyx Black onto a strip of vellum and embossed with clear embossing powder.

And here's the video!

Watercolouring with Distress Markers

I love my Zig markers. Love. But because I love them, I tend not to reach for my distress markers as much any more. Fixed that today.

I wanted to use slightly more muted colours today. I used the Floral Mix Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, along with a sentiment die also from Simon Says Stamp, and a sentiment stamp from Birch Press.
