Some non-traditional colours for Christmas

I made this card this afternoon, using Stampin' Up snowflake stamps, Versamark and white embossing powder, Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks, and a Papertrey Ink sentiment (plus some bling).
My brother commented that he doesn't like non-traditional colours (in other words, every Christmas card should be red and green), but my niece (Miss 6) decided I should try something different - and she chose Picked Raspberry and Dusty Concord - talk about non-traditional!!

I'll be submitting this card to CASual Fridays "Winter Blues" , to Less is More Glamour and Glitz, and to Addicted to CAS Challenge- SNOW

PS have you been checking out the Christmas-travaganza over at A Blog Named Hero??!?!?!?! A whole heap of Christmassy inspirational goodness from November 22nd until Christmas Eve!  Stay tuned for my guest spot closer to Christmas! Yay!!

Another star card

I had one star left over from my last card, so I made a very simple baby card.

I'll be submitting this to Daring Cardmakers "twinkle twinkle" challenge.

Twinkle twinkle little star

Going through my card stash, I realised I had no baby cards in blue (plenty of pink, no blue!).  I decided to fix that by using a little set of embellishments from Pebbles that I bought over a year ago but had only used one item from.

I'll be submitting this to Daring Cardmakers "twinkle twinkle" challenge.

Second chances

A Blog Named Hero has a challenge this week to remake something - to take an old card and remake it.  I took a new card (I made it yesterday!!) and remade it with some extra layers, a different sentiment, and the with snowflakes more closely packed together - not significantly different, but I really like the second card much better!
Here's the original, which I also submitted to CASual Fridays "Winter Blues" challenge.

Thanks for visiting - have a great day! : )

CAS(e)ing a sketch

Still on the blue theme, still on the Christmas theme, still on the must add some glitter theme, but this time, joining in with CAS(E) this Sketch, as well as CASual Fridays Winter Blues:

Christmas card with non-Christmas stamp

I thought I'd have another go at this week's CASual Fridays challenge - WInter Blues.  I had a piece of watercolour paper sitting on my desk that I'd already stamped with Hero Arts Lattice background stamp and white embossed, so I coloured in with an assortment of blue Tombow markers, drenched it in Perfect Pearls mist, matted it on blue cardstock, added a sentiment and some blingy snowflakes and I'm done!

Glittery snowflake goodness

I'm just loving my new Stampin' Up snowflake die - that and SU's glimmer paper seem to be made for each other!  Add a bit of blue (Distress Salty Ocean), buttons and a Papertrey Ink sentiment, and here's my contribution to this week's CASual Fridays challenge - Winter Blues.

Distress Snowflake

I recently bought a snowflake die from Stampin' Up - I used it in a class by Sue Madex and loved it, so I had to have it!
I made a card using the die to cut out some acetate (haven't posted that one yet), so I had the negative space left over, so decided to use it as a mask, like Jennifer McGuire did in the Online Card Class "Holiday Card Workshop" today.  I also wanted to use some distress inks (Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers) and Perfect Pearls, which were used by both Jennifer and Shari Carroll today.  I sprayed on the perfect pearls, but with a light hand because I didn't want the snowflake image to bleed. I decided there wasn't nearly enough shine, so I added the smaller, glittery die cut snowflake and the button.

Lots of inspiration from Class

The Online Card Class, "Holiday Card Workshop" has given me heaps of ideas - and I've used quite a few of them in this card!

The scored and inked background came from Kristina Werner's card in day 3, the strip of patterned paper on the inside of the card showing on the edge is from Jennifer McGuire's Day 4 card as well as Shari Carroll's Day 5 card, the perfect pearls/clear embossing resist baubles are from Kristina's Day 5 card, and the idea of baubles on a tree is also from Shari's Day 5 card.

I used a couple of different punches on this card,  so I'll be submitting this to A Blog Named Hero's "the ol' 1-2 punch" challenge.

My first attempt at scrapbooking!

Jenny, a very old and dear friend of my parents has a birthday coming up, and my dad found some slides from the 1960s that he scanned into his computer - I got them printed out so that I could scrapbook them for a birthday gift. These are photos that she has probably never seen before - photos of Jenny and her husband Peter, as well as my parents - so it should be a nice surprise for her :)
This is also my very first attempt at scrapbooking, so I went with the KISS principle!!

Sugar is sweet

I don't think I've posted this card, but it fits this weeks CASology cue card "Sugar", so here it is!!
