Welcome to another challenge at CAS-ual Fridays! While we're still sweltering through summer down under and looking forward to Autumn, Spring is coming soon in the northern hemisphere, so the challenge this week is:
that is, use spring time colours, and a musical theme. This is what I came up with:
I used a sentiment from Big Treble (which I mounted onto my acrylic block with a curve), along with Double Note Fri-Dies to create a mask to sponge Distress Inks in spring like colours. I also sponged the same colours behind the die cut stitched panel.
I'm looking forward to seeing all your pretty spring colours in your cards. Make sure you link them up!

Happy birthday, Sharyne
It is my friend Sharyne's birthday today, and I actually made 3 cards for her before I was happy with one to send to her! This is the winner ;)
I started with the sentiment from Hero Arts, and then sponged Distress Ink using a stencil and added strips of peachy coloured cardstock. It still looked a bit bare, so I went through my stash of little embellishments and found this darling little wood veneer birdie. Some flat and some faceted sequins in white and peach were the finishing touch.
I'll be submitting this to Runway Inspired Challenge: I was inspired by the peachy stripes. And is anyone else as excited as I am at the length of the skirts in the recent fashion shows? Mid calf skirts are making a comeback - hooray!!
I'll also be submitting this card to CASology - Monochrome

There's a new challenge beginning today at A Blog Named Hero - it's all about masking! This is what I made:
I used Hero Arts' Butterfly and Flower set, with some shadown inks and some Copics, too.

And, don't forget, there's a voucher from Simon Says Stamp up for grabs for one lucky entrant!

A baby birthday card for a Lawnscaping Challenge
A cute little birthday card for a baby today. I used three different Lawn Fawn stamp sets, Sophie's Sentiments, Admit One and Hello Baby, along with some Lawn Fawn patterned paper.
I'll be sharing this card over at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog for their 100th challenge birthday celebration!
Congrats to Laurel and the team on such a fabulous achievement! (You can see I took some inspiration from the balloons in the graphic!)

Fusion - Orange, Teal and Brown
I'm back for another Fusion challenge! I created a fusion of the sketch and the photo with this card (well, the colours in the photo at least!), and made a masculine birthday card.
Make sure you drop in at Fusion and join in the fun!

A fun, personalised card
This card was pretty quick to do - started with a Hero Arts sentiment, plus some letter stamps from Lawn Fawn.
With just the "Happy Birthday Sam", the card looked unfinished, even after colouring in the letters. So I die cut a large star out of some computer paper and used it as a mask to add some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

CASe this sketch
Another card for a challenge today - this time, it's CASe this Sketch. I went back to my cardmaking roots with this one - pattern provided by patterned paper, not stamps and inks. This patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn.

Runway Inspired Challenge
I made a card earlier this week for the latest Runway Inspired Challenge. It was a hot mess. I put it out of sight for a few days, and today I tried again. Much happier with today's card.

Hello, twins
A friend of mine asked for a baby card for twins, so I thought I'd join in with both Lawnscaping's Clean and Simple challenge, and Virginia's View Shaker card challenge. Now, I've never made a shaker card before today. Never. So it was a bit of a steep learning curve, and I must say I'm not very inclined to make another one! However, I am happy with the finished product.
On the background, I used the technique of using Versamark to create shadows on a panel of solid ink (Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Soft Pool), which I learned in the recent Online Card Class. I created a stencil to apply the Versamark using some Lawn Fawn cloud dies. All the stamps are also Lawn Fawn - from "Plus One" and also "Hello Baby". I had to create an extra bundle for the stork to carry with some creative masking (I've done this a number of times before with this stamp). The window was cut with a Stitched Circle die from Lil' Inker Designs.

Pink on pink on pink
I didn't aim to make this an all pink confection. It just happened! It started because I wanted to use a stencil I bought last week - Petal Pattern from My Favorite Things - so I did :)
I'll be submitting this card to CASology Week 131: Birthday
and also to Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.
