Being without a computer for a couple of weeks in March, I completely forgot that I hadn't blogged about this card. But a friend of mine (thanks, Andrew) managed to salvage all my data from my defunct laptop, and so I got my card photos back, and here it is!
I used some Mister Hueys butterfly masks, then stamped and sponged over them. I quite like the effect this gives, and I always like a one-layer card!

Fusion - Vintage Floral
Welcome to the latest Fusion Challenge! There's so much inspiration in the photo this week (as always!), but I chose to focus on just the flowers in the photo:

Challenge time at A Blog Named Hero
There's a new challenge up at A Blog Named Hero, and it's right up my alley - to make a One Layer Card!
I used one of my all time favourite sentiments from Hero Arts "Birthday Sayings", along wih Altenew's "Hennah Elements", stamped with various Hero Arts shadow inks over a masked panel. I then reversed the position of the masking tape, and added some sponged pink Distress Ink to define the borders. I added some sequins to finish off the card.
I'd love to see you link up your one layer creations over at A Blog Named Hero!
As always, we have a gift voucher to be won by one lucky entrant, courtesy of our AMAZING sponsors, Simon Says Stamp!

Inspired by Ardyth
I saw a card this morning by Ardyth of MASKerade, who was, in turn, inspired by another card maker. I decided that I had to CASE Ardyth card immediately!
I used all Hero Arts stamps ("Lotus Leaves" and "Many Birthday Messages") and three Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Soft Pink, Bubblegum and Soft Leaf).
Thanks for visiting - have a lovely day :)

Blue stencil
I love this stencil from Memory Box. It's like a ready made card - elegant and pretty, so after sponging some blue Distress Inks, I only had to add a sentiment!

Fusion - Dining Splendor
Another FUSION challenge begins today - and I decided to go with a fusion of the photo and the sketch - I just tipped the sketch on its side!
So, here's the thing. When I finished making the card above, I wasn't entirely convinced I liked it - there's not enough white space for my liking. So I made this card as well.
And then I wasn't entirely sure which one I preferred. So I decided to show you both, and let you decide!

Some glittery goodness
I made these two cards at the same time - cutting out from two colours of glitter paper for one card seemed a waste!
(I need to get myself some more of those cute-as-anything little wooden birdies! I've run out!!)
I used three main colours from this years Pantone Spring colour palette (if you count silver glitter as Glacier Grey, which I do!) I came across this thanks to the awesome Taheerah Atchia and her gossip column at the Winnie and Walter Blog, so I will be linking my first card up there.

MUSE challenge
The latest MUSE challenge caught my eye this morning. The card made by the Muse, Kristie Goulet, is colourful and bold, whilst also being calm and restful. My take on her inspiration is not so bold, but it is colourful, and calm.
There are heaps of wonderful cards to see in the linky over at Muse - you can check them all out HERE.

CASEing Debby Hughes
As soon as I saw this card from Debby Hughes back in February, I knew I was going to CASE it! I just didn't do it straight away - that's what's so good about Pinterest - squirreling ideas away for a rainy day!
I used all Hero Arts stamps, "Night and Day Flowers", and "Messages with Flourish". The colour is from Distress Inks used as watercolours onto watercolour paper. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark onto a strip of vellum, then silver embossed using Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder.
I'll be submitting this to the ColourQ challenge:
and to CASology's latest challenge:
and to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Birthday".
Thanks for visiting - have a lovely Easter :)

A girly birthday card
I haven't had much time to make cards for challenges recently, so I went looking for challenges, and found four that I wanted to join in with - and then I made one card that fits all 4 challenges! This card is for a very special friend of mine, Stella - Happy Birthday, lovely lady!
I stamped a bouquet of Wplus9 flowers on the white base card in strong colours, so that they would show through the vellum window (which was die cut with Lil' Inkers designs stitched rectangles and stitched circles). The die cut and stamped flowers and leaves in front of the vellum were stamped in softer tones of Hero Arts shadow inks. I die cut the word "birthday" (from Simon Says Stamp) twice and glued them together to give the word a bit more stability. The pink stamped, clear embossed word "girl" is from a Hero Arts set of sentiments called "birthday sayings". The final touch was some Zig "Wink of Stella" onto the die cut blooms and flowers. It's a pity the Wink of Stella is so hard to photograph - it gives such a lovely, subtle glimmer that really lifts the whole card.
The four challenges I'll be submitting this card to all have different themes! They are Virginia's View - Layers and Dimension, ColourQ CQC #285, CASology "Spring" and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge "Birthday".
I hope you have a lovely day - thanks for visiting :)
