Some ink blended oxide inks, some paper glitz sparkle splatters, and a silhouette stamp from Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for visiting :)
Today, I'm sharing a faux tiles card using dies from Paper Rose Studio.
I cut a piece of white cardstock with the Chloe's coverplate layer 2 metal die. I also used the same die to emboss another piece of white cardstock. I coloured the embossed panel (using the lines as a guide to where to colour) with Copic markers. I then sprayed the panel with Perfect Pearls in water before adding 3 layers of clear embossing over the top. I then adhered the original die cut over the top, as well as the die cut sentiment.
I have a post up on the Picket Fence Studios blog today - here's a sneak peek:
It's day 4 of the current Online Card Class. I used Jennifer's idea of scrunching up some cardstock to give it some texture. I added some Perfect Pearls spray to the pink and green pieces behind the J and Y in the die cut window, as well as some Paper Glitz mixed with water flicked onto the green and pink cardstock. I added some texture to the pink and green panels in the background with an embossing folder.
Jennifer McGuire's class in today's Online Card Class was all about folding and pleating.
I could have made the flower smaller, but my arthritic hands would not cooperate!
Day 2 of Online Card Classes "Crushing on Cardstock". Jennifer McGuire's video today showed some inlaid die cutting techniques, so I gave one of them a go (don't you love 2 for 1 techniques?)
The coverplate die is from Altenew, the heart is from Hero Arts, the sentiment on card 1 is from Waffle Flower and the sentiment on card 2 is from The Ton.
I made a bunch of card bases with rainbows in an unconventional way, so you will be seeing more cards like this!
I have a very, VERY old Colorbox Paintbox pigment ink pad
that has a rainbow of colours on a series of little foam pads. The foam
has degraded so much that the pad was unusable, so I swiped the pad over
some card bases and then scraped the degraded foam off the surface with
a stencil scraping tool. Very messy, but effective! (I think you might be able to get a similar result with a stencil scraping tool and Distress Oxide reinkers. Alternatively, you could mask off stripes and ink blend with a heavy hand in a rainbow of inks.)
Day 1 of Crushing on Cardstock - I made a herringbone panel with 4 different shades of cardstock from Stampin Up (I used a slightly different technique to what Kristina showed in her video, but the results are the same). I cut a heart from the panel (using an infinity die from Hero Arts) and used it on a 2nd card. The sentiment on my first card is from Waffle Flower, and the sequins are from Picket Fence Studios.
The sentiment on my 2nd card is from Taylored Expressions.
Some colouring for Day 24 of Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Colouring Challenge. This started off OK, then went seriously down hill when I added one particular copic colour whose shade I misjudged. I spent a fair bit more time fixing it, and finished with Derwent pencils, but the flowers ended up mostly purple instead of the pale pink I had originally planned. Oh, well!
