I made a card back in early March, and I had some flowers left over, so this is what I made:
Thanks for visiting :)
I have a post up on the Picket Fence Studios blog today - here's a sneak peek:
Thanks for visiting :)This card is definitely outside of my comfort zone - I mean, how often do I make a card that is almost all brown? But I decided I wanted to make this sculpture look accurate - the Winged Victory of Samothrace is a beautiful statue that now lives in the Musée du Louvre in Paris. She was carved from marble, and lives at the top of a stairway with a sandstone wall behind her. She doesn't have a gold frame around her, but I'm sure you'll allow me some artistic license! (Also, this die is inspired by her, she's not an exact depiction).
Today I'm sharing a card that is not my usual style!
Today, I'm sharing a card I made using the March My Monthly Hero Kit along with some of the add-ons for March.
I decided I wanted some detail on the picture frame - I used silver mirror cardstock to cut the frame, and then ran it through my die cutting machine with a stencil to emboss it with some texture.
This card was totally inspired by THIS CARD by Tiffany Solorio.
I took a panel of yupo and covered it a rainbow of alcohol pearls. I then ran it through my diecutting machine with an embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp, and then sanded off the top with a sanding block. The sentiment is from CZ Design. The March My Monthly Hero kit add-ons included this amazing die set so that you can make your very own paper doll of Frida Kahlo! It includes her top, skirt and shawl, a monkey and even her signature monobrow!
I googled Frida's artwork, and found one self potrait where she is sitting in front of a floral painting with pink flowers and a green background, so I tried to create something similar.
The March Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge is still going, and the theme is hugs/encouragement. Hugs cards are not always cheerful - sometimes they are for more sombre occasions. I think this card would suit such an occasion.
I made this card for my Mum's birthday!
For this card, I was inspired by a card made by Tina Smith.
I die cut the blossom metal die from white cardstock mulitple times. I ink blended with Distress Oxide ink in the middle of the shadow layer, then adhered the outline layer over the top.I ink blended with grey ink on a white card base, then arranged the layered flowers over the top. I adhered them with foam adhesive, and cut off the excess. I finished with a layered happy birthday sentiment.
I discovered today that I have absolutely no Get Well cards in my stash (and my stash of cards is pretty big!). So I'd better fix that.
It's release day at Picket Fence Studios! There is a very wide variety of products in the March release, and I've used stamps, stencils and a die from the release in the cards I'm sharing today.
And I made a video of this card!
Hero Arts has curated a collection of products to support the Red Cross in Ukraine (scroll down to see the products). 100% of the profits from these products will support immediate, on the ground help for the people of Ukraine. Hero Arts' fundraising effort will continue in order to help rebuild vital infrastructure, health and community buildings.
You can see the collection HERE.
I have used the new digital stamp called "Giving Sunflower" on these two cards.
I am not sharing a list of products in this post - I will be sharing my affiliate income for March with fundraising efforts, both for the devastating floods in Australia, and the horrifying war in Ukraine.
