You're my cup of tea for Altenew AECP - Seasonal Scene Building

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Today, I'm sharing a masked card I made following the Seasonal Scene Building Class as part of the Altenew AECP.
The class, taught by Nichol Spohr, included cards using masking to create scenes. I used eight stamps to create this little teacup with a bunch of flowers. I stamped the rose first, then stamped it onto masking paper so I could mask off the image before continuing. Next came the smaller flowers, then the leaves, then the teacup, the handle and the saucer. Removing the masks is so satisfying!

I coloured the image with copic markers, and added some grey shadow around the image, and underneath so that the cup looks like it is sitting on a surface rather than floating in space! I finished with a stamped sentiment.

Altenew AECP - let it shine

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made where I incorporated a few different ideas from Carissa Wiley's class, "Let it Shine" for the Altenew Educator Certification program.

I stamped  the Breezy Petals stamp and coloured the image with the coordinating stencils beofre fussy cutting the image out. For the shine, I used glitter paper on the frame in the background, I used embossing powder on the sentiment, and I finished with some glitter embellishments.

Altenew AECP - Easy Ink Blending

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the Easy Ink Blending class as part of the Altenew AECP program.

I stamped the floral image from "forever in love" onto a top folding white card base in Hero Arts Sand ink. I ink blended the top of the card in Peony ink, and added the Beveled Squares stencil to add a little bit more detail. I coloured the flowers and leaves in pale pink and pale brown copic markers, stamped the sentiment in Cup 'o Joe ink, and added a scattering of peach coloured gems.

AECP - Clean and Simple Boutique cards

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

I created this card after completing the Clean and Simple Boutique Cards class as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program. Using a discontinued stamp set from Altenew, I inked up the watercolour leaf stamp in a rainbow of dye inks, blending between the colours with ink blending brushes. I added some doodled details to the leaves (turning some of them into flowers) and added a sentiment. At that point, the card, did not look finished, so I added some sketched and dotted lines in two corners, and then I was done!

I recently bought the Cloud 9 metallic inks from Lisa Horton Crafts , and decided I needed to try the blackout technique on this gorgeous embossing folder from Spellbinders using the Solid Gold ink. I finished the card with a stamped sentiment from Simon Says Stamp

More Beautiful Flowers for AECP

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

Today, I have another card I will be submitting as part of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.
This card was inspired by the All About Layering 4 class.

I got in a lot of practice with layering stamps from the Beautiful Day stamp set (and I need practice - it's not something I've been very good at!) and after fussy cutting all of the images, I then I layered up the flowers and leaves to create this dense arrangement (Glad Press and Seal comes in very handy to keep everything in the right place!) I popped all of the flowers and leaves up on foam tape, and finished with a sentiment from Label Love.

Altenew All about layering 3

Compensated affiliate links may be used - these are at no extra cost to you. I appreciate your support!

I decided to challenge myself in my cardmaking this year, so I have enrolled in the Altenew Educator Certification Program. I am hoping that this program will teach me some new things, and push me outside of my comfort zone, as well as allowing me to make the best use of my stash of Altenew products!

The first course I chose to complete is All About Layering 3 (I am notoriously bad at using layering stamps, so this was a great excuse to practice!) I only needed to create one card for this course, but I made three!

For all of these cards, I used the Beautiful Day stamp set. For the first card, I used the Leaf Frame cover die and I followed the idea presented by Lydia in the class to cut it from cardstock and from vellum, and layer them up.

For my 2nd card, I kept it very simple, and added some subtle detail in the background with the Grid Stencil.

For my 3rd card, I created a bold sentiment using the Caps Bold Alphabet Dies, and cut the flowers so that they hang over the edge of the design. If I made this card again, I think I might add some very subtle stenciling in the background.

CASE It Instagram hop

Today, I'm taking part in the CASE it hop on Instagram - I have CASEd a card by Cathy Zielske!

This is Cathy's card that I CASEd - you can see it HERE.
I included the ink blended diagonal stripes and floral image stamped in black ink. I added a dotted border and glitter embellishments, and excluded the black dots. I also added two colours to make a rainbow. I also changed the placement of the sentiment.

To follow along with the hop, please visit my Instagram account!
