One layer rainbow

I've just finished a pile of marking for work, so managed to find some card making time - yay!

I had a die-cut mask piece sitting on my desk from a card I made the other day for the Online Card Class - CAS3.  I wondered how I could use it a different way - so I just traced around it with my Faber-Castell watercolour pencils and pulled the colour outwards with my water brush. I suppose I could have done this with the actual die, but the mask was what was on my desk :)

I'll be submitting this card to Virginia's View challenge, and Hero Arts Birthday challenge (rainbow).
Thanks for visiting :)

  6. Wow, Michelle, is this ever CREATIVE!! Love your use of negative diecut with the water-coloring! Just beautiful! Thanks for linking up to Virgina's View Challenge! And thank you for your amazing support!

  7. Hi Michelle, your card makes me happy!
Today, we had a rainy day with lots of shades in gray. Your brilliant colors brightened my day!

Where is the great "happy"-stamp from?
(Notice: you have a little typingerror in your text... I think, you actually take part in OCC-CAS-3 (not 2)). ;-)

    1. Thanks so much for your comment - and the free proofreading! ;) The sentiment stamps are from Winnie and Walter - check it out at - I love how versatile this set is, and the calligraphy font is just gorgeous! They have another stamp set out now, call The Big, the Bold and You, which is on my wish list ;)

  8. How fun is this? I love that you took the technique a step further and used it the way you did. Fabulous card!!

  9. Love the minimalist approach. Beautiful card
