I went to Paperific on Saturday - I bought a heap of envelopes and some cardstock, but only one stamp and one stencil! I decided to use the stencil with my Inktense pencils, and I followed the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this sketch.

Fusion #18
Welcome to another Fusion challenge!
I completely ignored the photo inspiration this week, and went with the sketch instead!
I made this for my cousin's 5 year old daughter - I hope she likes it!
The image is from La-La Land - I coloured her with Copics. It is when I colour images like "Birthday Cake Marci" here that I realise what a novice I am at Copic colouring!
If you look closely, you can see I added some Wink of Stella to the cake tray to make it look silver ;)
The stamp in the background is from Impression Obsession, and the sentiment is a VERY old one from A Muse Art Stamps.
Come and check out the challenge at Fusion - will you choose the sketch or the photo, or will you create a Fusion?

Hang in there
My mum recently had surgery on her back. She's doing really well, but it's a long recovery, so I wanted to cheer her up a bit.
I have wanted this Mama Elephant "Up and away" stamp set for months and months! But every time I looked, it was out of stock! I finally managed to put it into my cart and purchase it without it going out of stock, and it arrived in the mail this week :)
I'm playing along with two challenges - MUSE card club (using the inspiration provided by the wonderfully talented Marion Vagg), and also with CASe this sketch.

Ombre for an Anniversary
My Mum asked me to make this anniversary card for her to give to my brother and sister-in-law tomorrow. I thought I'd try out a die that arrived in the mail just the other day - Memory Box's "Tula" stencil. It's just gorgeous!!
I'll be submitting this to Keep It Simple challenge - Ombre.

Trying out blue Gelatos
I posted a card on A Blog Named Hero on Tuesday of this week very similar to this one - same technique, same stencil, both birthday cards, both ombre. I just needed, I mean NEEDED to make it again in blue (and my new set of blue Gelatos only arrived in the mail yesterday! Yay!)
This time, I chose a different sentiment stamp (the last one was a much more graphic font), and I also added some bling and enamel dots to create more movement. The embossing paste provides such awesome texture, I thought I'd submit this card to Lawnscaping's current challenge, "Texture, anyone?" I hope you like it :)

Ombre at ABNH
I have a post over at A Blog Named Hero today, using embossing paste and Gelatos - here's a sneak peek:

Addicted to CAS - Codeword: Geometric
This week's ATCAS codeword, Geometric, lends itself to a masculine card. I paired the Hero Arts "Tiny Flags" background stamp with a sentiment from their set, "It's Your Day".

Fusion # 17
Welcome to another challenge at Fusion!
For my DT card, I decided to just go with the photo, not the sketch. I used a stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, and Hero Arts shadow inks on linen textured cardstock. Lots of layering of stamps, but a one-layer card.
Please come and visit us at Fusion and join in with this bright and happy inspiration!

Get better wreath
My Mum went into hospital today to have a not insignificant surgery tomorrow morning. I made this card for her, based on Julie Ebersole's wreath card for the Online Card Class "Stretch your stamps". I'll give it to Mum tomorrow after her surgery.

Dots and Stars
Some more homework from Online Card Classes "Stretch your Stamps 2", using graphic stamps and a kissing technique used by Debby Hughes in today's class. All the makings for a masculine birthday card.

Don't look too closely
Everything that could go wrong with making this card DID go wrong. I won't bore you with the details. I think it looks OK from a distance - just don't look too closely!
I was trying Debby Hughes' colouring technique - but I have none of the spray mists she used, so I improvised with Distress Markers. Next time, I will do it slightly differently. But I thought I'd post it anyway, because taking class is all about learning, and that includes learning from mistakes.

Catching up on homework
I made this coloured panel for Day 1 of the current Online Card Class, but just used a small diecut piece on that card (which you can see HERE). This time, I went with 3 strips, and added the sequins that I was debating whether to add to the first card.

Using outline stamps for Online Card Classes
I just got these outline stamps from Winnie and Walter in the mail this week, so I thought I'd get them inky for the Online Card Classes "Stretch Your Stamps" class. These outline stamps could be used for paper peicing, for colouring with a multitude of different media, but I thought I'd use them with their matching solid stamps to see what I could come up with, using various Hero Arts Shadow inks.

CASEing Joy again!
OK, so had a die cut circle left over from the card I made yesterday (you can see it HERE), so I just couldn't let it sit there all forlorn!

CASEing Joy Taylor
I was so excited to see Joy Taylor's name in the latest Online Card class list of guest artists, not only because she is an amazingly talented artist whose style I adore, but also because she's such a fabulous person.
I used her technique of stamping a background with acrylic paint (I used Distress Paint in Picket Fence), then blending Distress Inks over it to create a resist look. I also took some elements of her card layout as well.
