Caroling, caroling....

When I saw the stamp set "Alpine Carolers" from Mama Elephant, I knew I had to have it!  (I sing in a number of choirs, you see......)   I kept this card VERY simple. because I made a few of them.

Happy birthday Jacqui!

It was my sister's birthday this week.  I broke out my new Persian Motifs set from Altenew and got stamping.  For this one, I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics for a one layer card.  The sentiment is from Stamp-It (an Australian company).

I actually made 2 cards with the same stamp set - one is for my Mum and Dad to give to Jacqui. For this one, I stamped in Versamark and white heat embossed the image, then coloured with watercolour pencils.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Rainbow embossed thank you

This card started with me wanting to try a technique - stamping in multiple colours (using markers), then restamping in Versamark and clear embossing over the top.  The technique worked great. The card, not so much.  Just not happy with it. 

I thought I might submit this to Simon Says Wednesday challenge with the theme "Thanks".

Inky Paws challenge

Newton's Nook has a Christmas themed challenge, and I thought I'd join in.  I don't have any Christmassy stamps from Newton's Nook, so I had to improvise ;)  I looked at the wizard from "Magical Dreams" and thought he would make a quite good Santa (with a couple of modifications that I drew)!

Hero Arts Poinsettia

I got a new stamp set in the mail from Simon Says Stamp yesterday - and I had to pull it out immediately to see what I could make.  I'd seen a video from Debby Hughes for the Online Card Class just the other day where she coloured a poinsettia on kraft cardstock, so I thought I would give it a go.  I used my Derwent Inktense pencils, but I didn't use any water.

CASEing Laura Bassen for Online Card Class

Catching up on homework from class. This time, I'm CASEing Laura Bassen'd one layer card with masking around the edge of the card, and sponging in the middle, having a sentiment that hangs off the edge of the sponged area, and some embossing paste snow for good measure.

I added some star dust Stickles on top of the embossing paste - I tried adding glitter embossing powder, but I need to get some new stuff - not enough glitter in the stuff I have!

Watercoloured Christmas tree

I love cards made by Dawn Woleslagle - she's such an amazing artist!  I don't have nearly as much patience as she does, though, but I thought I'd give her technique of watercolouring from a stamp a go.
I don't have a wreath stamp like she used in Day 3 of the current Online card class, so I pulled out my Snowy Tree cling stamp from Hero Arts, which I thought would be good for this technique.
Well, it took me a fair amount of time (I don't know exactly how long, as I didn't time myself, but significantly longer than I usually spend on one image), but I am really happy with the result.
