Celebrate

I bought this stencil by "The Crafter's Workshop" at Paperific a couple of weeks ago - I just adore it! I teamed it up with a heart die from Lawn Fawn, and a word die from Avery Elle.
I cut the sentiment and the black strip on the side from some black glitter paper - it is hard to tell in the photo, but in real life, the sentiment looks like velvet!

It's a good day to be happy

I've spotted some very cute and rainbowy cards in blogland recently, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon.
I created the background with the Swirl stencil from Hero Arts, and I added colour using some Copic markers applied using my Tim Holtz Distress Marker spritzer. (Copic sketch markers will fit if you remove the inner sleeve on the marker arm of the tool).  This application gives a cool textural look to the background. (have you seen the latest challenge at A Blog Named Hero? It's all about texture!)

I stamped the bunny from Mama Elephant's "Up and Away", and the balloon from Ellen Hutson's "Sock Monkey Surprise" onto white cardstock using Hero Arts Intense Black ink (it is a Copic friendly ink).  I then coloured with some of the same Copic markers I used for the background (plus some paler ones to blend), and then added them to the card front, and drew on some strings for the balloons freehand. The sentiment was from the same Mama Elephant set.

I will be sharing this card at Virginia's View challenge, which is to use a spray, mist or splatter.

I think you're amazing

Hello! I'm sharing a card with you today that I made using the Glorious Petal stencil from Hero Arts, and a few sentiment stamps from Wplus9.
I used 3 distress inks to add some colour over the stencil (Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Dried Marigold), and then stamped the sentiment in black. I added some splatters of shine with Mr Hueys mists in gold, and some clear Wink of Stella. I decided I needed some more shine, so I added a thin strip of gold glitter cardstock, and a few sequins.
I'll be sharing this card over at Virginia's View challenge - where the theme is to use a Spray, Mist & Splatter.

Happy Fathers Day

It is Fathers Day today in Australia, so Happy Fathers Day to all those dads out there - and especially to my own!

I'll be sharing this card over at Virginia's View challenge - where the theme is to use a Spray, Mist & Splatter - I used Perfect Pearls mist, sprayed over some Distress Inks blended over a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop.

Watercolour garden tile

I made a watercolour paper panel by stamping and white embossing the Hero Arts Garden Tile Pattern background stamp, scribbling over the pattern in places with a bunch of different Distress Markers, and then spraying very liberally with water.  I cut it into 2 to make 2 cards, but I finished them off slightly differently.  (The sentiment is one of my favourites from Wplus9).

Which do you prefer? The one with the pink glitter strip?

Or the one with the gold foil cardstock strip?
