It is my workmate, Ian's, birthday tomorrow. He's a botanist, so I pulled out some leafy images from Altenew's "Adore You" stamp set and got inky.
This is one of those cards that looks a lot better in person than via the computer screen. The gold gives a warm glow, and the stamped and inked panel is sprayed with Perfect Pearls, so has a lovely warm shimmer. I used Zig clean color real brush markers to add the greens and some orange, sprayed with water to blend, and then stamped the leaves in Versafine onyx black and clear embossed them. I added some more colour before spraying with Perfect Pearls in water. The sentiment is my oldest Hero Arts stamp - one of my first stamp purchases ever! I gold embossed it onto vellum and wrapped it around the panel before adhering with two strips of gold cardstock above and below the panel.
And, yes, I know this colour scheme is WELL outside of my comfort zone - but you have to challenge yourself sometimes!
I'll be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - their theme this week is "Anything Goes".
I'm also joining in at Just Us Girls - their theme is "Wild Card - use something old and/or something new" - I used my oldest Hero Arts sentiment stamp, and I opened the Altenew stamp set that the leaves are from today! Brand new!

CASual Fridays: CFC 179
Hello, crafty friends, it's time for a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I used no stamps, only dies on this card - and I obviously still have Christmas in July on my mind! LOL! The Fri-dies I used are the 4 Petals Fri-Dies (which I used to make this wreath of poinsettias), and the Noel Fri-Dies for the sentiment.
Make sure you check out the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog for more inspiration from the Girl Fridays, and join in on our challenge!

Hummingbirds from Darkroom Door
I recently had some cards published in the Australian Cardmarking, Stamping and Papercraft magazine, using stamps from Darkroom Door.
This first card was on the cover!!
I used Zig markers to colour in the stamps, before spraying the stamps with Perfect Pearls mist and stamping onto watercolour cardstock.
For this second card, I stamped in Versamark, and then added different colours of Perfect Pearls powders - this card has a lovely sheen to it that is very difficult to photograph.

Pink floral birthday with Concord and 9th
Hello! I felt the need to make a floral card today, and the challenges at The Flower Challenge, and at Where Creativity Meets C9 was calling my name!
I stamped and white embossed the Concord & 9th floral image onto some Canson watercolour paper. I then added colour with Zig clean color real brush markers and sprayed with water. I added a bit more colour in some places, before fussy cutting the edges of the image and mounting it onto some Stampin Up Regal Rose cardstock, and then onto a top folding white card base made from Neenah 11lb solar white. I took a scrap of the Regal Rose cardstock and white embossed the sentiment from the Many Mandalas stamp set (also Concord & 9th) and popped that up on some foam tape. A little line of faux stitching lines on the sentiment strip, and a coat of Wink of Stella on the flowers were the finishing touches.

Fusion: Hello cards
Hi, Fusion fans! I have a card for you today that I made as a Fusion of the sketch and the photo:
I used the Kind Soul set from Wplus9 to stamp the floral image and the sentiment in Versamark, then embossed them with Hero Arts gold embossing powder. I then watercoloured the image using Zig clean color real brush markers and water, and then gave the image a liberal coat of Wink of Stella.
Make sure you visit the Fusion challenge blog to check out the projects from the rest of the DT!

Pretty flowers for A Blog Named Hero
There's some new inspiration up today for our July challenge at A Blog Named Hero - here's my card:
I used the Night and Day Flowers stamp set from Hero Arts, which is sadly discontinued, but you could use plenty of other flower stamps from Hero Arts. I also used a word die from Winnie and Walter's "the big, the bold and the happy cutaways".

CASual Fridays: CFC 178
Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!
I used "Bring on the Snowflake" along with an older set called Christmas Carols. I white embossed the snowflakes and the sentiment before adding lots of Distress Ink in 3 different blues. I then added some shine with some Perfect Pearls mist, some Stardust Stickles, and a few sequins. I also splattered a few dots of water here and there to give a bit more interest to the background.
Make sure you check out what the rest of the design team have made for this challenge!

Beautiful day at A Blog Named Hero
I have a post over at A Blog Named Hero today:
I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Winnie and Walter "The big, the bold and extras" set onto watercolour paper and white embossed them. I coloured them with Zig clean color real brush markers and sprayed with water to blend. I fussy cut the flowers and leaves, and layered them onto a white card base, and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts "You're so lovely". I finished with a coat of Wink of Stella on the flowers and leaves, and a scattering of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
I'll be sharing this card at the Flower Challenge for their "Embossing" theme.

Fusion: Sand Beach
Hello, Fusion fans!
I went purely with the colour scheme of this week's photo - coral, orange, yellow, aqua and turquoise. I stamped the circles from Simon Says Stamp using Hero Arts shadow inks, and then coloured over them with Copic markers to give them a bit of dimension. I added a Simon Says Stamp sentiment and a scattering of Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
I'll be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - their theme this week is "Summer Sunshine".

Wedding card for Dilge and Josh
A friend of mine from choir was married recently, so I made this card for her and her new husband.
I went with this colour scheme because her bridesmaids had cream and blue flowers in their bouquets. Using my MISTI, I stamped the Wplus9 floral image ("kind soul") using a pale ink colour, then coloured the image with Copic markers. I then restamped the image with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder. I also embossed a stripe on the left side of the card base, and also embossed the sentiment (from Reverse Confetti "lots to say") with the same embossing powder. I finished with some Wink of Stella all over the floral image, and a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

A rainbow of Distress Oxide
I shouted myself some Distress Oxide inks the other day (happy birthday to me!), and this is the first card I made with them.
I'll also be sharing this card at The Challenge at Lesley Croghan's blog "Always Playing with Paper".
Thanks for visiting :)
I smooshed the inks onto some watercolour cardstock, then sprayed with water. I dried it and added some more colour, then after drying it a 2nd time, I dripped on some water to give some splotches. I then stamped the bouquet from Wplus9's Kind Soul set in Versafine onyx black. I added a layered die cut "hello" from Hero Arts, some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and some Wink of Stella on the flowers and on the sentiment.
