Cards published!
I recently had three cards published in the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping and Papercraft Magazine! Yay!
I started with a piece of watercolour cardstock, and stamped the My Favorite Things Floral Fantasy background stamp in Versamark and white embossed it. I added some colour with Zig clean color real brush markers, and blended with water. I then cut the panel into three separate pieces for three separate cards! All three cards had sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as a finishing touch.
For this card, I let the colour bleed out from the edge of the stamped image, then cut the piece of watercolour paper to be the same size as the card front. I added a sentiment from the "Kind Soul" set from Wplus9.
For the next card, I cut a circle of the coloured panel using a stitched circle die from Lil' Inkers Designs. I added a sentiment from Wplus9 to some vellum, and attached it with some adhesive hidden behind the stamped sentiment.
For the third card, I decided to slice a bit of the right side of the leftover panel so that the negative space was asymmetrical on the card, and open on the right so that I had a bit more space to stamp the sentiment onto the card front.

Using up leftovers on a masculine card
I should start a blog just for making cards using leftovers! This coloured panel is from a Father's Day card I made in the first weekend on September. I've re-purposed it for this birthday card.

Some glitter to bring a smile
I wanted to make something bright and sunshiny today - this isn't really bright, or sunshiny, but there must be sunshine on the way, because there's a rainbow. I used the Ornate Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, along with WOW glitter embossing powder, Zig Markers, a cloud nesting die from Hero Arts and a sentiment from Mama Elephant.
Even though there's no direct sunshine on this card, and the colours are very pale, there is glitter. LOTS AND LOTS OF GLITTER.
I discovered that glitter embossing powder doesn't resist water as well as traditional embossing powder - you live and learn. But I still like all the glittery goodness, even if this wasn't actually the look I was going for.
I'll be sharing this at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is Clean and Simple.

Fusion: Teacup Flowers
There's a new challenge at Fusion, and it's so pretty!
I went with the photo, not the sketch, and I kinda left out the teacup. I don't know why - I love teacups! But I just wanted to make a flowery card, so I did.
Make sure you check out the rest of the DT projects at the Fusion challenge blog!

Thinking of you
Had a miserable day today, for multiple reasons, so I took some time to myself when I got home from work to create something with some recent purchases from Simon Says Stamp.
Also, I kinda CASEd THIS CARD from Coralynn Murray for A Blog Named Hero. Check it out. Now. It's gorgeous.
I followed the sketch at CAS(e) this sketch

Pink and purple happy birthday
This is the third of three watercolour panels I made one day a few weeks ago - one was green, one was blue, this one is pink and purple.
The background is from My Favourite Things "Floral Fantasy", stamped and white embossed then coloured with Zig markers and water. The pink textured card base has been in my stash for DECADES - no idea where it originally came from! The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Guesting at "Where Creativity Meets C9"
Today, I am a guest at "Where Creativity meets C9" today for their September challenge! The theme is "Ink only", so ink is the only colouring medium allowed!
Because of this, I broke out the stamps in the "Hello Lovely" stamp set that allow you to add splotches of colour - I've never used them before, even though this is one of my very favourite stamp sets!
I stamped the outline image in Hero Arts Intense Black ink, before adding colour with a variety of Hero Arts Shadow inks in various shades of pink, yellow and green.
Make sure you visit "Where Creativity meets C9" to check out the inky creations by the rest of the design team!

New challenge at A Blog Named Hero
There's a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero today, and it's one close to my heart for two reasons!
As a CAS girl at heart, I love a one-layer card. And, if you've been to my blog before, you know I love CAS-ual Fridays stamps!

I went extra clean and simple on this one - no masking, no colouring, just plain stamping. Unfortunately, the yellow flower hasn't shown up particularly well in the photo, but trust me, there's yellow between the pink and the green!
I used the Small Solid Flower and Small Open Flower stamps from Hero Arts, along with the Amazeballs set from CAS-ual Fridays. Head over to A Blog Named Hero to check out the other Design Team members projects!

Masculine card for Father's Day
It is Father's Day here in Australia today, so I made this card for my Dad:
I started with some watercolour cardstock, and stamped the Highline Ironwork background stamp from Hero Arts in Versamark, then embossed it with Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger. I added colour with Zig markers in various blues, and then added a pop on lime green, before spraying the entire panel with water and heat setting. I finished the panel with a spray of Perfect Pearls in water. I cut the panel down as shown, and added a sentiment (sorry, not only is that stamp discontinued, the company doesn't exist any more). I finished with some faux stitching in black down either side of the panels.
I'll be sharing this card at Less is More challenge - they have a colour challenge this week:
I'll also be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, where they're playing with Hero Arts products, and their theme is Anything Goes!

Blue happy birthday
Do you remember the green birthday card I posted last week? Well, I made 3 panels at the same time with the same background stamp - here's card #2
I added a die cut and stamped sentiment from Hero Arts "Happy Stamp & Cut" set.
