Still working on building up my birthday card stash, and who doesn't like a rainbow?
I painted a rainbow background using Distress Oxide inks, then cut some square frames using a die from Poppy Stamps from white cardstock and placed them over the colours. I added a white embossed sentiment from Hero Arts on a strip of black cardstock, some Wink of Stella inside the squares, and a scattering of clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Just saying hello
I've made a few cards recently with a background that covers a whole card. I'm kind of missing my white space, so I cut this background down.
I used the Layered Pansies background stamp from Impression Obsession, white embossed then watercoloured with Zig markers. I cut the panel down first with a stitched rectangle die, then with a stitched circle die, both from Lil' Inkers. I adhered it to a top folding card, then added the sentiment from Hero Arts (I mounted it onto my acrylic block on a curve to match the coloured panel.

Hello
I wanted to see if I could emboss over an alcohol ink background created on Yupo. The answer is yes.
I had to keep my heat tool moving constantly, because the Yupo started to warp if I left the heat on any one spot for too long. The background was created with alcohol inks, with a gold mixative, and I added gold foil over the top, which stuck to the slightly sticky parts of the alcohol inks (I learned this trick from Jenny Colacicco.) I stamped the flowers from Wplus9 "Kind Soul" in Versamark, then embossed with gold embossing powder from Hero Arts. I fussy cut around the image, adhered it to a white card base, then stamped and gold embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Purple Pansies
I'm still trying to build up my stash of birthday cards!
I used the "Layered Pansies" background stamp from Impression Obsession, stamped and white embossed onto watercolour cardstock, then coloured with Zig markers. I cut around part of the image to create a panel (meaning I have leftovers - yay!) and added a birthday sentiment from Studio Katia.

Floating through blues
I think these blues and gold splatters of alcohol ink on Yupo look like you could just float in them, so I added a little heat embossed image from Mama Elephant floating down the card.
The die cut part of the sentiment is from Avery Elle, and the stamped part is from Altenew. The frame is die cut using stitched rectangles from Lil' Inkers.

PS have you noticed that I've been trying a new background, and trying adding props to my photos here and there? I prefer to take my photos with the cards standing upright - I know the trend at the moment is to lie cards flat and add props around them, but that requires taking a photo from above which requires lighting that I just do not have. I was discussing this with a couple of my workmates, and mentioned that I would like a teeny tiny pot plant (like I've seen LOTS of other cardmakers use, including Joy Taylor, Debby Hughes, and lots of others), but I think those other cardmakers actually have normal sized pot plants, but have heaps of space to take their photos. I don't have heaps of space. But my workmate, Trisha, found me a teeny tiny pot plant at Daiso! Yay! Thanks, Trisha :)

Congratulating new uncles
A friend who I've known since I was 12, Bethany, sent me a message the other day asking me to make her some cards. She said she could find lots of "congrats on your new baby" and "congrats to the new grandparent" cards, but couldn't find any for new uncles! So I made some, and personalised them too!
I used background stamps from Hero Arts, embossed onto watercolour cardstock, then coloured with Zigs and water. I tried to keep the colours pale, to match the new baby theme.
The sentiments are partly die cut with dies from Hero Arts and Avery Elle, and partly stamped, with the "uncle" stamp from Stampin' Up, and the names stamped with the Perfectly Penned set from Concord & 9th. The little animals are from DeNami Design.

Yupo and a die
I thought I would try making a card with only part of the "Mum Flower Frame" die from Simon Says Stamp.
The background is made from alcohol inks on Yupo. I stuck the partial die onto the Yupo, and fussy cut around it to match the background to the die. I finished with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp "Thoughtful Messages"
I will be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - "Add a die cut".

Fusion: Spring Wreath
Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!
I made a fusion of the photo and the sketch this time. I used flowers from Altenew's Henna Elements, coloured with Chameleon pens and with Copic markers, then covered with Wink of Stella shimmer pen. I added some score lines to the black cardstock panel to make it look like the black door in the photo, then added the flowers and a stamped sentiment from Hero Arts.
Make sure you visit the Fusion challenge blog to check out the projects from the rest of the DT.

Rainbow bouquet, two ways
I made a card yesterday, and after I finished it, I saw the new challenge at "Where Creativity Meets C9", which is watercolour. Seeing as the card had a little bit of watercolour, but was mostly coloured with Copics, I though I would try to replicate it, but using only watercolour (Zig markers and water). These are the results of the two:
This one is the Copic coloured one. I stamped the image from Concord & 9th with Hero Arts Intense black ink onto watercolour card. I added a rainbow wash using Zigs and water, heat set it, then went over the flowers and leaves with matching Copic markers. I added some white accents using a white gel pen, and some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is from Altenew, stamped in black, cut out then adhered with foam adhesive.
For this next one, I stamped the image with Versamark Onyx Black, because I knew I would be using a lot of water. The image is definitely more bold in this version! I heat set it before adding colour using Zig markers and my waterbrush. I finished it the same way as the first.
Here they are side by side - which do you prefer?

Valentine's Day
For all those people out there who do not have a special someone to celebrate Valentine's Day with, this is for you.
I stamped and white embossed the "Flora" background from Simon Says Stamp, then coloured it with Zig markers and Perfect Pearls in water. I cut the heart using a fri-die from CAS-ual Fridays stamps, and adhered the background and one of the layered hearts to a pink card base from my stash. I stamped the sentiment from Altenew's "Label Love" using shadow ink in Bubblegum from Hero Arts and adhered it using dimensional adhesive. A scattering of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finished the card.
I will be sharing this at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge for their "It must be love" challenge.

Using up leftovers
This card is using up a leftover - a piece of card that I stamped (with a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp), embossed, and coloured with Zig markers and water, but wasn't 100% happy with it at the time (this was months ago!). At that time, I made another panel and made that one into a card, but today, I decided to give this one another try.
I added a spritz (well, more than a spritz!) of Perfect Pearls in water, and cut it down to mount onto a pink card base. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp, a line of white faux stitching, and some sequins.

Playing with oxide inks
Having a play with some Distress Oxide Inks, and a stamp set from Altenew.
I smooshed some Oxide inks onto some Canson watercolour cardstock and moved the colour around with some water and a paintbrush until I was happy with the look. I stamped the flowers in black ink, then cut the panel to allow space for the sentiment, which is from Hero Arts.
I will be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme this week is "Anything Goes".

Sympathy cards
Sympathy cards are not easy. So when I made them, I tend to make a few the same so I have some spares on hand. I also try to make them not too masculine, not too feminine. I was inspired by a card by Lydia Evans on the CAS-ual Fridays shop - you can see it HERE as one of the samples for this stamp set.
I used "Casual Comfort" from CAS-ual Fridays, with a sentiment from "Lots to Say" by Reverse Confetti. I used a bunch of different Shadow Inks from Hero Arts - Antiqua, Pool, Soft Pool and Cornflower. For this card, I masked the sentiment, so it is a one layer card.
This green one, however, is not one layer - it started off that way, but I had ink bleed through the mask, so I had to cover up the boo boo.
Same stamps for this one, but I used Hero Arts Shadow inks in Green Hills, Lime Green, Soft Leaf, Field Greens and Fresh Lawn.
I'm playing along with CAS(e) this sketch
