Leftovers from yesterday

If you saw the card I posted yesterday using a rainbow alcohol ink on Yupo background, cut with the Dazzling Circle die from Simon Says Stamp's latest release, Sending Sunshine, you probably knew that this card was coming! I'm always happy to get two cards for the price of one!
The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Messages stamp set, also from Simon Says Stamp

I'll be sharing this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge, where the theme is "Anything Goes".

Thanks for your kindness

I was so excited to arrive home from work today to find a package from Simon Says Stamp, with the gorgeous "Dazzling Circle" die from the "Sending Sunshine" release!  I had to get creating straight away!
I die cut the Dazzling Circle from a piece of Yupo that I had coloured with a rainbow of alcohol inks. I kept the little pieces for another card, and used the negative space on this card. I teamed it with the "really big thanks" die and matching mini stamp set - I layered three die cuts, with the top one in black, but offset the white layers a bit to give a little contrast to the sentiment. I finished with a few sequins.

You are amazing

I could wax lyrical about alcohol inks and go on and on. But I won't.
I used a die from Studio Katia, and a stamp from Hero Arts.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 200

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!
http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com.au/

I created an alcohol ink background on Yupo using Raspberry and Wild Plum ranger alcohol inks, and Passion Purple from Pinata inks. I then added some hot pink foil over the top for some pink shine. I then stamped and white embossed the new Celebrate stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays - you can get this set for free with any $40 order from CAS-ual Fridays until the 6th of June (while stocks last)! I cut the Yupo panel on an angle and added a stamped sentiment from "Whole Shebang" underneath the coloured panel.

Fusion: Coral Flowers

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!
I ignored the sketch this time and just used the photo as my inspiration. I created a background using the back of a border stamp (because I don't own a stamp of thick, bold stripes), stamped with Soft Cantaloupe shadow ink from Hero Arts. I then stamped and die cut the Spring Bouquet from Studio Katia, and coloured it with Copic markers. I added a die cut sentiment, also from Studio Katia.

Rainbow heart

I can't stop with the rainbow alcohol ink backgrounds. Or with the foiling.
The heart is die cut with a die from Lawn Fawn, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Blue Bouquet

I know these type of flowers don't come in a blue variety, but I don't care. I like blue.
I used the Blooming Bunch stamp set from Studio Katia, white embossed with Zig markers, along with a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp "Thoughtfiul Messages". The panel is adhered to a Hero Arts note card.

Hugs for a friend

I can't stop making alcohol ink backgrounds, so I'm trying lots of different ways to cut them down, so that 1. I get a variety of different styles of cards, and 2. I can get multiple cards out of the same Yupo panel (because Yupo isn't the cheapest medium to use).
The alcohol ink background has some royal blue foil on it, because I need absolutely no excuse to use blue on everything.
I cut the panel with Stitched Hillside Borders dies from Lawn Fawn, then added the Friend die cut from CAS-ual Fridays and the stamped sentient is from Simon Says Stamp.

Long time no tea

The new challenge theme at A Blog Named Hero is Watercolour. My go-to watercolour technique is Zig markers over a white-embossed background stamp, but not today!
I went for clean, simple and Oh-So-Cute today, with the Mouse Tea Party stamp set from Hero Arts. I still used my Zig markers, but in a much more precise way than I normally do! After watercolouring the image, I re-stamped both the image and the sentiment to make sure the black outline was nice and crisp (gotta love the MISTI!) I finished the card with a strip of patterned paper from my stash, and a watercolour card offcut coloured with the same blue Zig I used in the main image, and then a few sequins.

Rainbow border

Using up leftovers from a rainbow alcohol ink and gold foil panel I made a few weeks ago:
The circle was cut using a die from Lil' Inkers, and the sentiment is from Avery Elle.

Hello, baby

Always need some baby cards in my stash.
I used the Kaleidoscope background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with Zig markers and water. I added a die cut word "baby" from Papertrey Ink, and a stamped "hello" also from Simon Says Stamp, before adhering it to a pale mauve card base.

CAS-ual Fridays: CFC 199

Welcome to a new challenge at CAS-ual Fridays!

http://cas-ualfridays.blogspot.com.au/

I started by stamping and masking the flowers and leaves from CAS-ual Fridays "Pretty Posies". Before removing the masks, I used an ink blending tool to add Distress Oxide ink in Broken China and Salty Ocean. I also spattered on some water droplets, and some Perfect Pearls mixed with water. I removed the masks, coloured the images with Copic markers, added a sentiment from CAS-ual Fridays "Mon Ami", and cut the left edge to give a little bit of white space, and to match the sketch (notice how one of the stars in the sketch is off the edge?)

Make sure you check out the CAS-ual Fridays challenge blog for more inspiration from the Girl Fridays, and join in on our challenge!

Birthday Butterflies

I had to make another card with the oh-so-pretty "Stitching Butterflies" die from the "Fluttering By" release from Simon Says Stamp. I went for a completely different look to the card I posted yesterday - yesterday was bold and bright, this card is soft and pretty.
I used Distress Oxide inks to create the rainbow of pastel colours on the bottom edge. I die cut the butterflies from white Bristol cardstock, and sponged on some colour. I added a sentiment from "Thoughtful Messages", also from Simon Says Stamp, and a scattering of jewels from Studio Katia.

April release from Simon Says Stamp

I got a package yesterday from Simon Says Stamp, with some gorgeous new dies released in April, and some slightly older (but still relatively recent) dies and stamps. I put them together over an alcohol ink background and came up with this:
The butterfly is from the "Stitching Butterflies" die set in the April release called "Fluttering By". I cut the wings from vellum and the body from white cardstock. The sentiment is "Big Thanks" dies (also cut from white card and vellum) and "Big Thanks Words" stamps, embossed onto a scrap of grey card. The background is Yupo with alcohol inks, with some hot pink foil over the top.

Purple bouquet for Mother's Day

I made this card for my workmate, Krista - her mum really likes purple :)
I used stamps from Studio Katia, coloured with Zig clean color real brush markers.

Happy Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day soon in Australia, so I made this card for my Mum.
I used the Spring Bouquet stamp set from Studio Katia, stamped and white embossed onto watercolour cardstock and coloured with Zig markers and a water pen. I fussy cut around part of the image, before adhering it to a pink card base.

Rainbow birthday

I have a rainbow of alcohol ink colours, and I'm not afraid to use them. So I pulled out some Yupo and had a play.
I added some gold Minc foil to the alcohol ink background for some extra shine. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things (die) and Uniquely Creative (stamp).

I'm a guest for CAS on Friday!

I won a challenge at CAS on Friday a couple of weeks ago, so was invited to be a guest for the next challenge! The theme for this challenge is "use a cute stamp on your card".
I started by making masks using the "Puffy Cloud Borders" dies from Lawn Fawn, and inked over them with Spun Sugar Distress Ink to create the soft cloud background. I used the "Up and Away" stamp set from Mama Elephant, and coloured the images with Copic markers, then added some clear Wink of Stella to the balloons. I popped the image up on dimensional adhesive, and added a sentiment from "Nursery Deco" from Mama Elephant.
I'd love it if you joined in with the challenge this week - make sure you keep it CAS!

Blue birthday

I've been experimenting with foiling over alcohol inks on Yupo. If you leave the alcohol ink dry too long, you either get no foil transfer, or you get thin little veins of foil that stick to the bits that are still sticky. If you don't leave the alcohol ink dry long enough, you just end up with a heap of alcohol ink on your foil sheet and no foil on your inked panel. With this panel, I think I hit the sweet spot.
The sentiment is from Uniquely Creative stamps.

A one layer card for A Blog Named Hero

I have a simple floral card to share for the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page.
I used the Large Lotus Pattern stencil from Hero Arts with Distress Oxide inks in Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Hello Stamp & Cut set, stamped in Black Onyx Versafine ink.  I finished with some clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some little dots of white gel pen to add some detail.
