Border die over alcohol ink for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card using a gorgeous border die from Paper Rose Studio.

I began with a panel of Yupo and added alcohol inks (Gumball, Wild Plum and Amethyst) and blending solution. While it was drying, I cut the decorative border die from white cardstock twice. I adhered the yupo panel to a top folding card front, and then adhered the die cuts on either side of the yupo panel.

I cut out the sentiment from Big Black and White sentiment sheets with a circle die, and then ran it through my Minc machine with hot pink foil, before adhering this piece with foam adhesive to the centre of the card.

Hello sweet friend for A Blog Named Hero

Back in February, I saw part of a Facebook Live with Gina K. she made a couple of cards with uncoloured, gold embossed floral images and copic markers to colour the background. She added texture to the background, but she mentioned that someone might like to try making a gradient with Copic markers. So I  have!

I used the Gina K/Hero Arts collab set "Friendship Blooms", with gold embossing and a variety of blue copic markers.

My Monthly Hero for March

The lovely people at Hero Arts sent me the latest My Monthly Hero kit! I love the book theme, and all the imaginings in the main stamp set are just wonderful!

I stuck with the main image for this card, and coloured it with a rainbow of inks from the reactive ink pad included in the kit.

Using up my stash of backgrounds

Today, I'm joining in last week's Beyond the Blue challenge to use a background from my stash. I kept it super simple by adding a die cut sentiment and I was done, but I got 2 cards from 1 background! Bonus!

Stripy hello for Picket Fence Studios

Today, I'm sharing a card with NO COLOURED INK ON IT! (yes, I can hear the gasps!)

I used the new Nested Rectangles set from the Slimline Diecutting System from Picket Fence Studios to cut all of the coloured panels and the gold mirror cardstock mat. After adhering the stripes to a piece of printer paper, I die cut it with a smaller stitched rectangle from the set, and then stamped and gold embossed the flowers from Lilies for Spring. I finished with a die cut Oversized Hello die from the same mirror gold cardstock as the mat.

Fusion: Easter Eggs

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I ignored the photo this month and used the sketch instead, using some patterned paper from my stash, matted on some dark pink cardstock, with a printed sentiment from Paper Rose Studio that I foiled with my mini Minc. Also, how hard is it to photograph foil well?!

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation!

Acrylic pour card for Paper Rose

My friend, Michelle Liimatainen, does gorgeous acrylic paint pouring, and she sent me some panels of cardstock to make some cards with. I could stare at these panels for hours!

I took the acrylic paint pour panel and cut it to fit onto a slimline card front with a small white border. I added the  Rose Bloom die with some liquid adhesive, and then added a printed sentiment.

Pink hello

Today, I'm sharing a simple card using a very Aussie sentiment.

I started with a panel of alcohol ink on yupo, which I cut into panels to lend a little bit of interest. I added a die cut hello from Picket Fence Studios, and a printed sentiment from Paper Rose. (for those non-Aussies amongst readers of my blog, it means, "how are you going mate, alright?"

Release day at Picket Fence Studios

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios, and there is a definite theme happening this month! All of the products I used are listed below, along with all of the other products in the release!

For this first card, I watercoloured the sea and the sky, and I then stamped the whale's tail in blue and black inks, white embossed the sentiment, added some white gel pen to the waves around the tail, and then stamped some seagulls as a finishing touch.

For this more colourful, slimline card, I used a new stencil in the background, and splattered some perfect pearls in water to add some shine. I stamped and clear embossed the merpeople onto some vellum, cut them out with the coordinating die, and adhered them (the glue is hidden behind the embossing). I finished with some of the sequin mixes in this release.

For my third card today, I adhered the mermaid mask to navy cardstock with pixie spray, then sprayed the panel with white Distress spray, and then again with perfect pearls mixed with water. When that dried, I did it again, and then went around the image with white gel pen dots. I finished with a blue stamped sentiment and some little glass beads for bubbles.

Floral for A Blog Named Hero

This month, I suspect the challenge theme at A Blog Named Hero is going to be very popular - it is Floral!

I made this card for a family friend who was in a car accident recently. I started by doing some ink smooshing of Distress Oxide inks onto a panel of watercolour paper. I then stamped this gorgeous floral stamp, Togetherness Flower Bouquet from Hero Arts and white embossed it, before adding some extra colour to the image with Copic markers. I finished with an older Hero Arts sentiment which is discontinued, so I have linked below to another stamp set that has a get well soon sentiment.
