Craft Roulette 123

 Today, I took part in the Craft Roulette challenge on YouTube.

The parameters this week were: 

Project: smaller/larger

Colors: blue, yellow, pink and red

Elements: stars

Random: stripes

At first, I found the parameters a bit overwhelming, but after some ideas from the comments section, I got creating! 

I made the rainbow by blending the blue with the yellow and the yellow with the red. I used the pink on the balloon, as well as on the elephant's ear. I used masking on either side of the card (stripes) as well as stripes in a sunburst stencil. I also stamped tiny little stars that came in two sizes (smaller/larger!).

And I made a video!

I recently got some new products to play with! For this card, I used an embossing folder from Altenew, a sentiment from Ink Blot Shop, and Distress Foundry Wax in Gilded.

Butterfly thanks for Paper Rose

 Today, I'm sharing a card using dies and an embossing folder from Paper Rose Studio

I started with the Handstitching 2 embossing folder and some white cardstock. I then blended some distress oxide inks over the panel, cut it down and adhered it to a white card base. I cut the butterflies from some more white cardstock and blended some pink ink to the tips of the wings, and cut the Hand Lettered Thanks word die and blended it with purple and blue ink. I adhered these to the embossed panel, and finished with some bubble bath embellishments.

Peacock hello for Hero Arts

 The add-ons from the July My Monthly Hero release from Hero Arts include this pretty peacock die. I decided to colour him in realistic colours for a peacock.

I popped the head and neck of the peacock, as well as some of the "eyes" of his feathers up on some layers to give him some dimension. I kind of wish I'd popped his head and neck up even further.

Frankie the Fox for Paper Rose

 Today, I'm sharing a super clean and simple card using stamps from Paper Rose Studio.

I began by stamping Frankie the Fox in black ink, and heat set the image, then used a ruler and a thin black marker to extend the line to the edges of the card. I stamped the image onto some masking paper, fussy cut it and adhered it over the image on my card base. I used a blending brush to ink blend around the image, before removing the mask, and colouring the image with copic markers. I finished with a sentiment from "With love sentiments".

One design, two cards

Sometimes, I make two backgrounds almost the same. In this case, I decided to make the same card twice, but I changed the sentiment. I decided that the more purple background suited a sympathy card, and the one with more red would be nice for a friendship card.

 The July My Monthly Hero kit from Hero Arts has this awesome flamingo layering stamp set. I used some of the inks from the kit and a couple of extras, and some partial die cutting to make this scene.

New challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero

 There's a new challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero starting today. The theme is "Another Year Older" - we'd like to see all of your birthday card ideas! Any theme, any colour scheme, any technique, as long as it's a birthday card.

I did some watercolouring with Distress inks, before stamping with the Togetherness Flower Bouquet stamp. I then cut the "happy" die from the Happy Thanks" Stamp & Cut set, and stacked up the word die to create the eclipse effect. I added some Wink of Stella on the word, and stamped the word "Birthday" below the die.

Emboss resist mandalas

 I made this card during a live video for Hero Arts on Facebook last week.

 

For this next card, I began trying to make a similar card using the inks as watercolour. I wasn't 100% happy with the outcome, so I added a lot more intense colour with the same blending brushes as the first card to get this super bright version.
