Farewell to Sky Blossom
This card makes me sad - I just used my very last small piece of "Sky Blossom" linen paper from Cristina Re. I was at her store, Where a Girl Goes, last week, and I was told that this paper is DISCONTINUED!!! This makes me very sad indeed :'( Quite miserable.

UPDATE 7/2/12: just this morning I found a couple of websites (thanks to a comment from Judith) and I've bought some more of this gorgeous paper! Hooray!

CASual Fridays meets JAI meets Annabelle
I made a card yesterday. It was a total train wreck. I wasn't feeling 100%, with a headache and general ickiness, so I thought I'd try a colour scheme challenge combined with a sketch challenge, to make my life a little easier - it didn't work. Too much going on all at once - a total mish mash. I'm not even going to post a photo of the card, it was that bad.
Anyway, this morning, I saw Cath Edvalson's "Oh my moxie fab!" post at Moxie Fab world, and it jolted me back into Clean and Simple mode quick smart!
For this card, I used the simple colour scheme challenge at Just Add ink (Reds and white), as well as CASual Friday's "On the Red Carpet" challenge - the film is "Love Actually" - one film made up of lots of little love stories :) And this week's challenge at Annabelle Stamps is "Say it with hearts" - and Lilypad cards has a patterned paper challenge - it all fits quite nicely, really!
The reason I mentioned the train wreck of a card is that this card was made from scraps left over from the disaster! So it wasn't a complete waste of time!

CASual Fridays On the Red Carpet take 3
Today, I've tried a different kind of card - my first entry to this week's CASual Fridays challenge "On the Red Carpet" was all stamping, and the second had stamping in the background, but the sentiment on this card is the only bit of stamping - all the rest is paper piecing, and the background was done by masking and sponging. Can you guess from which film I took my inspiration?

Seeing as the balloon is paper pieced (no stamp - I drew it myself and cut out templates), and the grass is hand cut (with standard scissors, by the way!), and the banner with the sentiment was hand cut, too, I'll also submit this to Moxie Fab's Cutting and Trimming Challenge, and to Lilypad cards Patterned paper challenge.
Also, The Ribbon Carousel has a paper piecing challenge this week, so you'll see a link there, too :)
I did the background by die cutting some clouds with a die from Memory Box, annd then sponging all around with Hero Hues Soft Pool ink, using my Ranger ink blending tool. Because of this, I'll also submit this to Moxie Fab's Die Cutting Challenge.

CASual Fridays On the Red Carpet take 2
Yes, in very quick succession, another entry for this week's CASual Fridays challenge - On the Red Carpet. My inspiration for this one is fairly obvious from the sentiment, although a card for a baby doesn't really have much to do with a Barbra Streisand movie from the 70s!
It's been a while since I used actual glitter - I tend to stick with Stickles and Kindy Glitz - but today I used Versamark and then Stampin' Up Heat and Stick powder on the Hero Arts background stamp, and then shook on some Artee crystal fairy dust glitter that I've had for yonks - and I now have glitter EVERYWHERE!!

This week's CASual Fridays challenge is fantabulous for a few very good reasons - firstly, I get to play along! YAY! Secondly, the theme is "On the Red Carpet" - cards must be made using inspiration from the movies - fun fun fun! Thirdly, the winner this week will win a spot as a guest designer for CASual Fridays - a temp Girl Friday! Woo hoo! Excited much? Let the creating begin!
