Retro Sketches back for January

Arielle and the girls at Retro Sketches have kindly extended their invitation to me to continue with them for January - they didn't have to ask me more than once!  I jumped at the chance!

Here's what I came up with for this week's sketch #96:

FUSION Challenge!!

Happy New Year! New year, new design team, new challenges!
I made this card for the current Fusion card challenge - make sure you check out Fusion, to see all the amazing inspiration by the fabulous design team.  I'm so excited to be a part of such a phenomenal team!
I used Hero Arts/Studio Calico Lattice background stamp, heat embossed in white on white. I wrapped some orange ribbon around that, as well as the Simon Says Stamp Thank You Tilted Banner Sayings stamps & die.  I cut 3 of the small butterflies using the die from Hero Arts Antique Flowers and butterflies set, and coloured them with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and an ink blending tool.  I then layered that panel onto some Lawn Fawn Daphne's Closet patterned paper, and mounted that onto white cardstock.
I added some Wink of Stella to the butterflies, just because ;)

Please join in with the new design team at Fusion - I'm looking forward to checking out all your creations!
Thanks for visiting ;)

More challenges for the new year

This is my 2nd post for today - to see my post for A Blog Named Hero, click HERE.

Of the card challenges that I often participate in, quite a few are on a break over Christmas/New Year.  However, some are still around, and they happen to be some of my favourites!  :)

I used Wplus9's "Fresh Cut Florals" for this card - with my new matching dies!! Yay!  I used Hero Arts shadow inks in Pale Tomato, Butterbar, Cornflower and Green Hills, Hero Hues ink in Black, as well Stampin' Up Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Wild Wasabi. Finished off with dots with my Uniball Signo Broad white gel pen. The mat is cut with a stitched mat from Lil' Inker Designs.

I'm playing along with CAS(e) This Sketch #58, Keep it Simple Anything Goes, Simon Says Stamp "Something New", and CASE Study #172
