Hero Arts Flickr Scramble!

I saw a Facebook post by Lisa Haines this morning, saying that a Hero Arts Flickr Scramble was on! These are usually on at times that I can't join in (middle of the night kind of thing), but I saw this one at 8:00 am, and it still had 30 minutes remaining, so I got cracking!
The first option for the scramble was
Option A:
2 - Use TWO colours (Neutrals are allowed in addition to the two colours)
0 - NO diecutting
1 - Use ONE image - (Background, stenciled image, a stamped image, etc)
6 - Use SIX embellishments (buttons, sequins, gems, etc.)

This is what I came up with: 

 Unfortunately, I went to upload my photo to Flickr, and Flickr just refused to load on my computer, so I missed out on the cut off time!  :(

Fusion - happy anniversary!

Welcome back to the FUSION challenge!

We have a special post today - it is our anniversary!

I used the Pretty Peonies stamp set from Wplus9, along with a sentiment from Strictly Sentiments 5.

Elephant aloft!

I made this card today for my sister-in-law's birthday (which is next week).  I wanted to play along with the My Favorite Things sketch challenge, because I got this sweet elephant stamp set in the mail this week, and was itching to get it inky!

I followed the sketch by incorporating the horizontal bands in the sketch as my rows of clouds in the background of my card.
I'm also sharing his card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - the theme is "New", and this "Adorable Elephants" stamp set is new to me!

I'll also be sharing this card at Time Out challenge - their theme is "Birthdays with the optional Technique Twist of adding sponging."

Stenciling over foiling

Last year, I received a kindness package from the one and only Jennifer McGuire.  I still can't get over the excitement of it all! 

Today, I took one of her foiled notecards (it was blank except for the foiled sentiment), and I added some colour using Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar Distress Inks, over the Swirl Stencil from Hero Arts. I then added some sequins from my stash, and I was done!

Foiling is SO DIFFICULT to photograph!  Suffice to say, the shine is AMAZING!
