Week 2, card 1 Holiday card boot camp - circle card

Boot camp is certainly making me "think outside the square" - and today, quite literally!  This is the first ever circle card I've made - what do you think?

Week 1, card 9 Holiday card boot camp

This card started off with a plan to try to use Kristina Werner's "reproducible" card from day 5 of the Holiday card boot camp as my inspiration for the layout.  I was going to have a monochromatic background, some patterned paper, a punched edge and some hemp twine.   The layout stayed similar (kind of), but all that stayed in the plan "as is" was the punched edge! However, I must have had Kristina's style on my mind - I added faux stitching lines!!

Here's another attempt at a window card - but, instead of suspending a cut-out image in the window, I decided to make it an acetate window, and stamp the image onto the acetate.

I blinged-up the snowflake with some SU gems and some diamond Stickles.  I also sprayed the faux-letterpress background (embossed and inked at the same time) with a mix of Isocol and shimmer paint.  Also, you can't really make it out in the pic, but the red circle behind the window has SU's "en francais" background stamp in real red stamped on an angle.  You can just make it out if you squint ;) LOL!

Week 1, card 7 Holiday card boot camp

I can't tell you how much I love Julie Ebersole's work - her card making is just gorgeous, and she's so funny and down to earth!!  I decided to make almost a direct copy of her card from the holiday card boot camp today - with a few substitutions for stamps she used that I don't have ;)

Week 1, card 6 Holiday card boot camp - watercolour paper

Today at the Holiday card boot camp, Jennifer did a lovely card using watercolour paper, an embossing folder, Distress inks and pearlised water.  Here's my take:

 There's plenty of glimmer on this card, but as all cardmakers who take photos will attest, it just doesn't look as good in a photo - the shine is so much better in real life :)
