Clean and Simple Cardmaking - week 1, card 19

Jennifer McGuire showed us a really cool technique in class today, using distress inks, blending tool and perfect pearls.  Here's what I came up with using her technique:
Is there any way, short of wearing gloves, to use Distress inks and keep your fingers from getting all inky!  LOL!  I'm a mess!!  BTW, I used my new Festive Berries and Evergreen Bough Distress inks on this card - and I'm in love with these two colours!  Just the best!!
Thanks for visiting :)

Clean and Simple Cardmaking - week 1, card 18! and 3 challenges

I used 2 tips from the Clean and Simple cardmaking class today - use a background stamp differently, and layer card to give some dimension to a card.  I used the colour scheme from Colour Q, and am also submitting this for the Moxie Fab Punches challenge and Annabelle Stamps Anything Goes.

 Thanks for visiting :)

Map to your heart - punched squares

I really liked making a card last week using map paper, so I thought I'd try another one!
I'll be submitting this card to Moxie Fab's "Map to your Heart" ChallengeMoxie Fab's Punches challenge, as well as to Annabelle Stamps "Anything Goes" challenge .

Does this fit the "Clean and Simple" category?  Maybe, maybe not.  :P

Publication reject #2

Another publication sumbission that was rejected today - oh, well, onward and upward!

BTW, this was my first use of my new Hero Arts Soft Pool shadow ink - will be getting a few more colours in this ink - love it!

Publication reject #1

I submitted a couple of cards to be published earlier this month - but they didn't make the cut!  I thought I'd share them in the gallery at the Clean and Simple Cardmaking class, as one of the classes was all about where to get inspiration, and I often get inspiration from online challenges, particularly ones with themes or sketches to follow.
This card followed a sketch as part of the call for submissions to a cardmaking magazine. And I was so pleased with this card, as yellow is certainly not my strong suit!  Oh, well, I'll just have to try again!  Having said that, it is a bit disappointing to be rejected :(
(but now I'm thinking to myself, "suck it up, princess - it's not the end of the world!!" LOL!)

I thought I might also submit this card to Annabelle Stamps "Anything Goes" challenge , as well as Moxie Fab's Cutting and Trimming challenge ;)
