Not a creature was stirring...

I bought this sentiment stamp (from Amuse Art Stamps) a few years ago, and then had to go searching for a mouse stamp (this one is from Penny Black).  I used them both in my Christmas cards 3 years ago, before I owned any Copics (honestly, before I was even aware of the existance of Copics!!!), so back then I coloured the little fella with my Derwent coloured pencils.  I was happy enough with the results, but the Copics are just so much easier to blend, and give such a nice, smooth result!
I had to pull this mouse stamp out again today after watching the fabulous colouring video by Sandy Allnock in the Holiday Card Workshop today.  I took a while to put this card together, as I thought the smooth colouring and shadows gave the little mouse a kind of a vintage feel (I know, weird for such a cutesie image!), and the font on the sentiment is definitely vintage in feel, so I went with a dark burgundy card base that just didn't look quite right, until I added the Hero Arts holly swirl background stamp using just Versamark ink - I think it added just the right touch :)  I also diecut the main image to give it a nice little frame.

Again, I spritzed with some perfect pearls in water.  :)

Christmas cards with ideas from class

I love Julie Ebersole! (no surprises there!) So I was so excited to see her name amongst the contributors for the Online Card Class "Holiday Card Workshop".  She made a card with a panel made using an embossing folder as her main focal image, so I tried the same.

You can see on the next photo the shimmer from some perfect pearls mist.

Online card class begins!!

Well, yes, class actually began on Monday, but I've only had a tiny bit of time available since class began, so have only made a couple of cards.
I liked Jennifer McGuire's idea of cut outs on the front of the card showing another cut out on the inside, so I gave that idea a go with this card:

T. rex for a 4 year old

The same workmate who asked me for a pink girly card for a 4 year old (see my last post) also needed another birthday card for a boy - the two are twins!   I decided to get out my dinosaur stamps from SU and get stamping.

 For those of you thinking that they're Christmas trees - no, they're not - when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the forests were predominantly coniferous!  No flowering plants back then, just lots and lots of pine trees :)

  Even though there isn't much "white space" in this card, there's not a huge amount going on, so I thought I'd submit it to CASology "Wild".
