Case me a Christmas Card with Jessica Frost Ballas

Welcome to Case me a Christmas Card for 2020 - a slight variation on my annual Challenge me a Christmas Card blog series!

From October to December, I will link to a series of guest cardmakers on my blog. I will CASE one of their cards, and they will CASE one of mine! CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything - but it's not about just copying a card. It's about getting inspiration from cardmaking friends, but making a new card that is our own. And, of course, the card we each make has to be a Christmas card!

This is the card I Cased:

 Ardyth came up with a genius acronym to help you make a Case of a card without making a direct copy of it - LIMES. I am going to be using this acronym for all my Cases from now on: 

List: Gold embossed background, green cardstock, gold mat, Pencil colouring, central gold embossed sentiment, gold string and gold sequins

Include: Gold embossed background stamp, gold mat, Pencil colouring,

Modify: blue cardstock, gold embossed sentiment in bottom left corner

Exclude:  gold string and gold sequins

Spin: Christmas!

Emboss resist Christmas cards

 My favourite cards to make are CAS - I love some white space. I also love the emboss resist technique using Zig clean colour real brush markers, so I made a bunch of cards like these ones this Christmas.

The backgrounds I used are from Hero Arts and from Simon Says Stamp. The sentiments are from Paper Rose Studio.

List: white cover die, stamped images of fruit, sentiment banner centre left, ombre background, red, orange and yellow, orange gemstones

Include: white cover die,  sentiment banner centre left, ombre background

Modify: pale pink and green

Exclude: red, orange and yellow, orange gems, fruit

Spin: die cuts instead of stamps
