Thomas is turning 1!

Hi, all.

I've been quiet for a while - first, work got crazy, then I had to have an operation that has had me in recovery mode since just before Easter.  I'm a lot better now (not 100%, but getting there), and am pretty much up to date with work stuff, so got to get in some card making time - yippee!!  And not too soon - a few birthdays coming up in the next week, so had to get busy!!

One birthday this week is my nephew, Thomas, who turns 1 on Wednesday - happy birthday little man!!

Mother's day cards

I've been busy making some Mother's day cards today - here's a few

And, yes, for those of you who read my earlier post, I now own the mystery stamp - yay!! (It's a retired Stampin'Up stamp).  I've been having fun with my Tombow markers and blending pen.

Unfortunately, my blender pen is quite ancient, and has become fuzzy and kind of frayed (is that the word?) at the brush tip end, which makes it very difficult to stay in the lines when blending colours. Tried to get a replacement today, but of the 2 local shops that I know stock Tombow, one has sold out of blender pens, and the other one has closed down!! Booo!

I also used my aquash pen with some champagne mist paint from SU to give a bit of glimmer :)

Lots of cards for Alice

I'ts Alice's birthday tomorrow, but her birthday party is tonight.  The chocolate crackles are made, as are her cards.

Here are the ones I gave you a speak peek of earlier in the week.

First, the flippy card .

The monkey is from a set by Stampin' Up, the "3rd" is cut from a SU die set "timeless type alphabet", the "happy birthday' is a Victoria's Secret stamp, and the "happy 30th alice" letters are from a Tim Holtz die, "once upon a time".
Now, the slider card.

The Happy Birthday is a SU set. All the rest of the letters are from a Hero Arts clear alphabet set, "happy letters".

Alice got a tattoo yesterday (don't get me started....).  She told me about the tattoo weeks ago, and she described it as an empty birdcage withe the bird outside.  Here's my take.......

The only stamp I have with a birdcage has a bird in it, so I hand drew this one.  Also, the only bird stamp I have is much too small, so I drew the birdie too.  The yellow background is embossed with a Cuttlebug die (seeing spots) that I bought yesterday at Paperific at the Melbourne Showgrounds - gotta love Paperific!  :)

Happy Birthday, Alice!!!

Alice's birthday again

My friend Jackie bought Alice a money belt for her birthday.  Alice doesn't have one, and our choir will be travelling to the UK next year, so it was a good idea.  Jackie asked me to make a birthday card for Alice with a travel theme.

Here's my take.....
