Flocked paper Mothers day cards

A couple of quick Mothers Day cards, using some gorgeous flocked paper from Cristina Re.

I hope you're having a lovely day :)

Online Card Class: His and Hers Day 1

Another online card class!  Yippee! This one is about making cards to suit male and female recipients - it is so easy to make cards for girls and women - masculine cards are a bit harder to do.  One idea from Jennifer McGuire is to adapt one card sketch to different recipients.  Here's what I did.

Whne I first stamped the white leaves on this card, they didn't stamp perfectly at all, and I was almost going to scrap it and start again - but I decided to continue and stamp the black over the top - and now I actually quite like the fact that it isn't stamped perfectly!

Twins!

A lovely friend of mine gave birth to twins this week - a boy and a girl!! How fabulous is that!!  I saw this week's CASE Study card, and decided to use it as inspiration.
I'll be submitting this card to CASE study - JJ Bolton,  and to Just Add Ink - Just add a fun background

Happy birthday, Auntie Nora!!

By Great-Auntie Nora is turning 90 this week!  Woo hoo!!  There is a party, but I'll be working, so I made a card to send to her instead.

I'll be submitting this card to CASual Fridays Birthday Bash, Addicted to CAS codeword Flower, Fusion hypothesis 4 (just the sketch today) and Keep it Simple, 3, 2, 1!!

Difficult card.

Hero Arts has a stamp set called "Remember" - it's the kind of stamp set you hope you never have to use, but you're glad you have it when you need it.  The sentiments in this set are perfect.

What do you say to someone who is going through the toughest battle they will ever face, but they know they are losing? Words are not enough, but something is better than nothing.

Green chevrons again!

I had some left over green die-cut chevrons from my last card, so I had to put them to use, didn't I!!

I'll be submitting this card to Just Us Girls ombre challenge, and Fusion # 2 - photo challenge.

 I hope you're having a great day :)

Boo!

I had a stamped, coloured and fussy-cut bat left over from a previous card, so I decided to make a Hallowe'en card (my cousin has put in an order nice and early for some Hallowe'en cards - I usually don't do Hallowe'en cards - it's not an incredibly popular occasion in Australia.)
I used silver Smooch Spritz on the black background, coloured the Stampin' Up bat in Copics, and the  letters are from a Hero Arts alphabet set, embossed in white.

I hope you're having a lovely day :)

Going batty!

A friend asked me to make a card for her soon-to-be-5-year-old son, who likes bats.  This is what I came up with:

Buttons and stitching for Moxie fab's Trigger Tuesday

When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger photo at Moxie Fab World, Friendly Flowers, I knew EXACTLY which stamp set I would be using - Stiches and Swirls from Papertrey Ink. I combined it with some Basic Grey buttons, and a sentiment and inks from Stampin' Up.

Thanks for visiting - have a lovely day :)

Fusion take 2!

Seeing as I had the stamps and the inks out, I thought I'd have another go at this week's Fusion Challenge.  I decided to make the flowers form the chevron shape across the card, and this is what I came up with - and all on one layer! All the stamps are from Stampin' Up (but from 4 different sets!) and the inks are Stampin' Up Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight, the sentiment is in Memento Tuxedo Black, and the orange is a Hero Arts Mid tone Shadow Ink - Orange Soda.
I'll be submitting this to CASual Fridays CFC 97, and to Fusion #1.

A new challenge blog!

A new challenge blog has begun - just yesterday!  It is called Fusion, and it looks to be really cool, and great fun! (and I particularly love the scientific terminology - they don't have challenges, they have hypotheses!!) This week, there is a sketch challenge, and a photo challenge, or you can choose to combine the two to create a fusion, which is what I did!
(I think I need to have a fiddle with the settings on my camera, or maybe photoshop - the pink flowers look coral in the photo, but they are hot pink in real life!)
It also fits in nicely with CASual Fridays challenge this week, which is chevrons and flowers.

Hmm, now I'm thinking I should have rounded the top right corner - not sure......

I hope you're having a great day!

Pink and a cat

A friend of mine recently asked me to make a birthday card for her daughter - who likes cats and all things pink.  This is what I came up with:

Unfortunately, I ran out of time to submit this to Less is More's "Scallops" challenge - rats!!

UPDATE: Thanks to a comment from the lovely and talented Virginia Lu, I'll be submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp challenge - Happy Birthday!! :D

Three challenges

This week's CASual Fridays challenge is to use both chevrons and flowers on a CAS card.  This week's Lawnscaping challenge is to use embossing. And CASology has the theme "UP" at the moment.  I decided to combine all three :)

I used Lawn Fawn's "Admit one" and "Sophie's Sentiments" stamp sets, as well as "Bright Side" papers, plus a discontinued pink paper from Stampin' Up.

 I hope you're having a lovely day :)

UPDATE - thanks to a comment by Virginia Lu on another card I posted today, I'll  also be submitting this card to Simon Says Stamp challenge - Happy Birthday :)
