Baby tags

I was given these cute little images over a year ago by a lovely lady at my choir - but they've been sitting at the bottom of my embellishments container not being used.  Until today, that is, when I saw Just Us Girls has a challenge to make 4 matching tags, and I immediately thought of these cute-as-a-button images.  I pulled out the Hero Arts clear stamp set, "Baby", and my Papertrey Ink tag die and got to work.

Three butterflies for three challenges

I wrote down a bunch of challenges that I want to take part in this week - but the card I made today actually is an amalgam of three of them!  A sketch from CAS(E) this sketch, a colour scheme (and time limit!) from 10 minute Craft Dash at Pretty Pink Posh, and a technique (negative die cutting) from Keep it simple!

More silver jewellery

My crafty friend, Cathleena, hosted another precious metal clay crafty day day this weekend - I made 2 new pairs of earrings!

 I used a Stampin' Up! stamp to make the impression on these ones - the large scalloped circle in the (now discontinued) set, "Circle Circus".

The ones below look darker because they've been treated to make the sunken areas look darker - and I can't remember the name of the stuff we used to do it!

 I had a TEENY TINY bit of clay left over, so my inner nerd kicked in and I made this TEENY TINY ammonite!!  (please don't look too carefully at my fingernails!  I only put my finger in the shot for scale!)

CASADIA!

Wida Miller, she of the fabulous blog Beachorado, is the fabulous hostess of CASADIA - a kind of card CASE chain!  In Wida's own words:

This story all started when I saw a card Jennifer Rzasa CASED which was made by Laura Bassen. I decided to CASE Jennifer's card. I had a fun idea to start a card chain by CASEing cards, hence the name Case+idea=CASADIA. This page is dedicated to seeing how far the chain can go.

I was so excited to see that Harriet had returned to the use of a rainbow of colours, like on the card that started off the whole CASADIA shebang! I seem to be on a rainbow binge at the moment! LOL! I used SU glimmer paper for some bling instead of sequins (I have a sequin aversion - a childhood doing callisthenics in sequin-covered leotards means that I try to avoid them whenever possible now!) I just adore the white "thanks" over the rainbow oval - just gorgeous!

I can't wait to see who will be up next, and what they come up with! Thanks for letting me join in, Wida!

A Blog Named Hero - Tag Challenge

Hi, all!! The challenge at A Blog Named Hero, starting today, is called #Tag - make a project either incorporating a tag, or inspired by dog tags.

I have only one tag die - it is from Papertrey Ink - so I started with that and the Hero Arts Starburst background.   I stamped the cling stamp in HA Butter Bar mid tone Shadow Ink (I just love how it dries so smooth!) onto white card, then placed the die judiciously to get the pattern radiating from the hole in the tag.

With a sentiment and clouds from Lawn Fawn's new set, Blue Skies, and a ribbon attached, I thought I was done with just the tag, but I decided I wanted it on a card.  The blue card (Stampin' Up Bashful Blue) was just too plain on its own, so I added the HA Magical Background stamp, stamped in Versamark and clear embossed.

 I decided that the clouds (which are fussy cut and popped up on dimensional adhesive) needed a little bit of bling, but not too much, so I smeared on some Rock Candy Distress Stickles.

A Blog Named Hero is doing a collaboration with Neat and Tangled all this week!  Woo hoo!  I recently got the stamp set "Kindness Matters", and immediately got to stamping with a heap of Hero Arts shadow inks ;)

Rainbow balloons!!

Wow - it's been a while since I was able to participate in any challenges!  TOO LONG!!   Very happy to break out a new stamp and die set from Lawn Fawn today and get colouring for Lawnscaping's latest challenge.  I really liked Laurel Beard's colouring of the balloons in rainbow colours, so I decided to try it, but I used Copics, not Inktense pencils. I also wanted to use a banner for this week's CASual Fridays Challenge, Banners and Flags.

I decided to use Memory Box Puffy Cloud dies instead of the ones in the Lawn Fawn Blue Skies die set (which have flat bottoms - which is very cute, but I wanted fluffy bottomed clouds - I don't know why!!) I cut the clouds from Inkadinkado mask paper, and masked around the square panel as well, then used an ink-blending tool to add Distress Ink in Broken China and Cut Glass for the sky.
