Ombre happy birthday

I wanted to make a card other than a Christmas card (shock horror!) as people don't stop having birthdays just because Christmas is coming!
I used my favourite background stamp from Hero Arts/Basic Grey, "Flower dot pattern". I teamed it up with a word die from Mama Elephant, and the word "wishes" is from "Woodland wonders" from Avery Elle.
I actually CASEd myself for this card - I made a baby boy card using the same technique back in February last year for A Blog Named Hero - you can check that card out HERE. I used Distress Ink in Salty Ocean on that card, but on this one, I used the Glacier Caves set of blue inks from Altenew.
I'll be linking this card up at CAS Colours and Sketches challenge.

I'll also be sharing this at a challenge that is close to my heart, Addicted to CAS!

  2. Beautiful card, love the blue fading away and on the sentiment. Looks brilliant. Everytime I see this stsmped image its like the one that got away......I have so many HA backgrounds and yet they took this one out of production before I could buy it, I keep my eyes peeled. One day someone will want to sell it

  3. I absolutely love this card! The lovely ombre blues, the white embossing with part of it left white-on-white at the top of the card, the paisley pattern, the way the "y" loops around the banner - it's all such an amazing treat for the eyes! :) Thanks so much for participating in our birthday celebration at CC&S! Please come back and join us again soon for another challenge because I'd love to see more of your artwork!

  4. Michelle, such beautiful work. This toned background and the words with the gradient makes the work easy, as if weightless.

  10. Hi, just popped over from discovering you on YouTube and browsing your lovely blog.
I know it was a few years ago, but I’m trying to locate the background stamp you used on this card. I’ve been looking for something similar for months and I’ve just seen this card & love it. I’ve asked google but can’t find it at all. If you still have the stamp/packaging, could you double check the name for me please. I’d be very grateful. Thanks in advance, Michelle.

    1. Hi - this stamp is my favourite - it is called Flower Dot Pattern, and it was a Hero Arts/Basic Grey collaboration. Sadly, it is discontinued.
