Inlaid die cut with Yupo

I posted a photo on Instagram last week showing part of a card that I'd made using the inlaid die cut technique. I had a few requests for a video, so I made one. You can check out how I made it in the video.

I used the gorgeous Blooming Flowers Background die from Paper Rose, with a friend die from Studio Katia, and a little stamp from Simon Says Stamp.

And this is the card I made with the positive die cut - I used a Happy die from Simon Says Stamp, and a stamp from Birch Press Design.

And here's the video!

I will be sharing this rainbow card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is "anything goes"

Rainbow mandala

I was so excited when this stamp from Birch Press Design arrived in the mail - it was one that jumped straight onto my wish list as soon as it was released!

I white embossed the mandala onto watercolour card, then coloured with a rainbow of Zig markers. I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment onto a piece of vellum and wrapped it around the rainbow panel.

Bouquet with splatters

What to do when you drip some colour onto your white card front by accident? Pretend like you did it on purpose by adding lots more!

I used flowers from Studio Katia and a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Yupo circle birthday

That "birthday to you" strip is purple, not grey. It totally looks grey on my computer screen. And it looks crooked, but it is totally straight - I used a T-square ruler and everything!

I cut a stitched circle (from Lil' Inkers) from a piece of Yupo with alcohol inks, then added a "happy" die from Simon Says Stamp, and a stamped and white embossed sentiment from Birch Press Designs. I finished with some dew drops from Studio Katia.

Stenciled sympathy card

I bought some stencils from Sarah at Funky Fossil design on Folksy a little while ago - this is one of them.

I used Distress Oxide Inks over the leafy stencil, and added a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I finished with some dew drops from Studio Katia.

Have a great day

Another card no on a white card base - not sure what's up with me, lately!

I used a floral border stamp from Studio Katia, coloured with Zig markers, and a sentiment from Hero Arts.

Peach birthday

I quite like oversized floral stamps - the ones that won't fully fit on a standard card front. They force me to think outside of the square (or rectangle) and decide how to place it to get a good composition without using the whole stamp.

I used the Sketched Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, coloured with Zig clean color real brush markers, with a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

I'll be sharing this card at the Flower Challenge, where the theme is "Anything Goes"

Embossing at A Blog Named Hero

The new challenge at A Blog Named Hero is "Embossing" - this is what I came up with.

I used the "Crossing Waves" stencil along with Distress Oxide Inks on a "Tide" notecard. I added some clear embossing powder over the top, and some white gel pen details. I added a white embossed sentiment from "Many Birthday Messages" and I was done!

One-layer stenciled birthday

I recently bought a few stencils from Sarah Gray at Funky Fossil Designs on Folksy.

I added colour over the stencil with Distress Oxide inks. I kept this card as a one-layer card with a sentiment from Gina K Design.

Blooming rainbow

I bought this amazing cover plate die called "blooming flowers background" from Paper Rose last weekend, and I couldn't wait to try it out!

I paired it with a yupo panel with a mix of alcohol inks and alcohol pearls, and finished with a sentiment from Altenew, and some sequins.

I will be sharing this rainbow card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, where the theme is "Whatever the weather".

Floating flowers

This card turned out nothing like I planned. The layout, the colour scheme, the fact that it's not a one layer card - all not what was in my mind. Oh, well!

I used flowers from Altenew coloured with Zig markers, and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Lift Ink Fuchsias part 2

This is the other half of a card I posted last week - a CASE of one of my Challenge me a Christmas Card cards.
I used the Hummingbirds set from Avery Elle with Alcohol Lift Ink, and a sentiment from Birch Press Designs.

Fresh Bloom release from Simon Says Stamp

This new "filigree heart" die is just gorgeous!

I cut the die from a piece of white cardstock, and then cut around it to form a horizontal panel to go across the card, then stamped a sentiment from "Tiny Words" from Simon Says Stamp. I adhered the panel with foam adhesive over a panel of Yupo with alcohol inks and blue foil.

Fresh Bloom release at Simon Says Stamp

The new release at Simon Says Stamp is live today!! It's called "Fresh Bloom", and I was lucky enough to receive this gorgeous die called "Filigree Heart" in the mail last week!

It's called " Filigree Heart", and it has gorgeous faux stitching details all over! I cut it from a piece of white carstock, but put some masking tape under it so that all the little bits were caught on the tape. I then coloured them with a pastel rainbow of Copic markers, and then jigsawed them back into place. I added a sentiment from "Tiny Words" white embossed onto a strip of black cardstock, and added some Wink of Stella to the coloured pieces.
